Not allowed to have gold threads when you work for sites?

Whilst i get what you mean, i'm not trying to sell billions I am also trying to sell for methods that our site doesn't currently have in stock/offer, in reality it wouldn't actually take anything away from the site.

 

Making an exception for case by case basis is way too time consuming and confusing with who's doing what. Easier just to lay down one simple rule. Maybe try another forum?

 

Yeah I have listed on other sites too (Powerbot/OSbot and another) however not as much traffic going on.

 

Well if these rules are applied and if you run your own Website or work for a gold selling/ buying site, are you able to list personal buying threads? (NON RELATED TO THE SHOP)

 

I understand your frustration, as I have gold myself that I would love to be able to advertise and sell on my own thread; however, working for Bogla limits my ability to do that. This rule is in place because companies could easily put up a thread for each of their worker's with their own "personal" stock. That's certainly not to say that you're doing it currently; however, it's a blanket rule that applies to all in this sort of situation. Rather than judge it case-by-case, or favoritism as many like to say, it's easiest to just apply this rule to all to prevent market manipulation.

 

I'm curious, is it a rule actually listed on Sythe or is just something RWT shops etc have as one of their house rules? I've never seen such rule at Sythe, however I do think it's correctly in place to prevent any competition and any other misunderstandings.

 

I don't believe it's written down. Some specific rules like this aren't written in stone, so to say. If you remind me later today I'll add it into the sticky in the goldselling section.

 

The rule doesn't exist to stop people from legitimately doing business as you're attempting to do. It's there to stop the countless other problems that have occurred, and would again if the restrictions were removed.

We don't make rules for the users that wouldn't have broken them in the first place. Legislature is made to corral the masses, not justify the means of the few or react to specific cases.

I do apologize that you're unable to do legitimate business because of the actions of others, but that's just how the world works. 2fa exists because people want to gain access to others' hard work. Security cameras exist for the same reason.

DUI checkpoints aren't there to inconvenience every single driver on the road (though they surely accomplish that,) they exist to stop the minority of those who are attempting to break the law and endanger the public.

Removing this rule would not promote, but instead allow users to pursue illegitimate business tactics which we constantly try to avoid on Sythe.
