Requiring ID to become verified

No support. Good idea, but too much hassle for what the suggestion provides. It's a security risk, if anything. Just trade with reputable members.

 

Support, just gotta figure out how to make it work. Increasing trade safety in anyway should be of importance for Sythe if it can take steps in the right directions effectively.

 

Definite no support, and have seen this suggestion shot down many times for the security risk involved. Not to mention if I read correctly Sythe etc don't want to store that data.

Many people wouldn't want to associate themselves to a black market forum. That itself wouldn't bring in donations.

A suggestion similar was accepted two years ago, I assume it's just on the back foot at the moment, considering the good part of a year has been spent on Xenforo.

 

This obviously can't be implemented in the way you suggest because it's just not viable with so many people currently having it. Levels are the best way to go here as explained by Rich.

What would happen to the users that already have SVU and couldn't or refused to give their IDs?

I definitely like the idea of increasing the requirements for SVU, but not in this way. Glad to hear a SVU level system is planned.

 

As Sythe just said above, there would probably be a Bronze, Silver and Gold levelof SVU. People with the current SVU would be Bronze level.

Ultimately, what Sythe has stated is what the current plan is, and the way this will go. If the plan changes at all, the thread will be re-opened for more discussion.
