Last Man Standing

A new dev biog was posted recently. It talks about a new minigame that could potentially be added to OSRS in the future.

In summary: It's 25v25 on an island with everyone having the same stats (maxed stats). One game mode costs 100k to enter, creating a prize pool and giving the winner a reward. The other game mode would be purely for fun.

In my opinion this sounds like it would be a great addition to OSRS and I'd personally really enjoy playing such a minigame. Your thoughts?

Sounds like fun to me, will for sure be making sometime to play a few games of it when it comes out (if it comes out) and I love how it will be a money sink as well.

 

Seems like a fun gamemode actually, might aswell give it a try once it'll be released.

 

I believe this was something pitched by the stream B0aty, a battle royal for Runescape.

 

I like the idea. I wonder how they will stop clans though, could easily be unfair to the single player as was is DMM.

 

random match making system, no parties to stop clans ?

 

Even with random matchmaking, it's going to be extremely difficult to fully split up clan members between different games, unless there are a LOT of people playing. Either way, the casual mode should be a lot of fun and I'm really hoping that this passes the poll.

 

Really good and fun idea hope it doesn't get abused with teams though. Really good money sink as well, 2.5m from all 25 players then 1st place gets 1.5m then 2nd gets 500k. 500k out of the Eco per game

A hunger games styled minigame sounds perfect for a game like OSRS

 

If they integrate the concept well enough, I'm all for it.

I can't ever see it becoming anywhere near an eSport type of game like CSGO though, there first tournament was poorly executed but everyone starts somewhere

 

If you can consistently win you'll make around 3m+ an hour, which is pretty shit yeah.

OT: I wonder if this will be a good gold sink at all, probably not.

 

hopefully it wont get ruined by clan members all teaming up.
