How do people get so many posts?

The bulk of it comes from bumping. Think if you have one 07 buying, one 07 selling, same for RS3, then a RSPS, BTC, blah, blah, blah.

You can get 3 posts per day bumping like 8 separate threads, on top of just posting normally. It really adds up over time.

 

Well back in the day, I would browse everyday for like 8+ hours just posting anywhere I could. Also when moderating anytime I locked a thread and posted in it that counted. So it all adds up.

 

Basically, you can have a lot of threads, you can bump them every 8 hours, given that you have time to bump twice every single day and have 15-20 threads, you can rack up post count really fast.

 

If you enjoy expressing yourself via typing, discussion boards like this are great. I believe it is easy to rack up post count if you're actively participating in the community.

They get built up over the years for most of us, but some people spend days on end on here.

Just be active. Adds up after awhile.

 

Pretty much this. If you don't pay attention to it too much, it will pile up overtime. The majority of my posts came from Suggestions & Off topic.

 

Mostly from bumping threads, and answering peoples questions on the forums.

Uh, well, most of these people are wrong... it has very little to do with being active and posting around the community. A few years ago you wouldn't see this many users with high posts per day- it's solely because a lot of people have entered multiple sections of the market and have had bots to bump 3x a day (8 hours between bumps). So if I have 5-10 different threads in the various market sections, my ppd will automatically be 15-30 in addition to normal posts. Keep it running for a year and suddenly you have 11,000 posts in addition to your normal posts.

Very few of the high postcount users you are referring to are actively contributing to the forum apart from the market. Anyway, closed.
