Does account selling work?

Hi, I have not played OSRS for 14 months.

I met a dude thru Kijiji and was wondering if account selling works for the buyer?

Does the authenticator and stuff completely make it so the account I buy will forever be mine?

Or to put it short: Can the seller of an account recover the account in the foreseeable future?

Also, any of you experienced buyers know any way I can ensure the account will not be recovered?

The orginal owner can recover the account at any time

 

The account can always be recovered, no matter what you do. Only buy from trusted members or you risk your account being recovered.

 

Any account is recoverable, if you do plan to buy, do your homework on the person selling.

 

Please do your home work, be safer to create it your self and have it skilled on by trusted members.

 

Personally I would only purchase accounts if I am 100% sure the original owner will not recover the account. As stated above, the original owner can always recover the account back at any time.

 

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your homework as everyone above suggested. My very first purchase on sythe I sadly did not do this so I was out about $100 worth of gp. People have told me that you can recover an account at any time if they can just tell from a location match

 

The guy I met said he will give me a copy of his driver licence (he says it will come to use if he ever he scammed me in the future.)

He's sounding a bit more trusting, but still idk? :/
