    Someone give me a valid reason that outweighs the pro's as to why marijuana should not be legal.

    No, I do not support legalization, however I think it should be legal to carry few grams, grow small amount of plants and smoke in private areas. Just ban Buy/Sell.

    Why is cannabis even illegal when for 1. Less lethal then Tabaco 2. less lethal then alcohol 3.its a self harmless plant. 4. leaves you feeling good asf.

    Legalization of marijuana = Less $ for private prisons to lock up people for non violent offenses

    This is conceivably the only logical reason for keeping it federally illegal. It being legal or not has no effect on me so I don't care much at all.

    I must disagree that it is the only reason. It is a drug with huge impact on hormone levels. Medicaments with this kind of effects are on prescription only.

    EDIT: I just realized that prescription only does not mean illegal.

    I don't believe the sample size is large enough to be able to post this as a generalizable statement. A lot of legal substances can have negative effects in large doses, such as tea.

    Cannabis cure cancers, a plant cannot have a patent, therefore cancer currently has no cure, because nobody can patent the cure so therefore nobody will profit from curing the worlds biggest disease.

    Weed has been legal all my life in my country, I don't necessarly see the point why it should be illegal. It only has negative effects on the human body or mind after excessive use of weed/hasj

    I suffer from severe depression... And the celexia the doc gave me didn't work... I had to quadrouple the dose he gave me (with proper research to make sure that it wasn't too much) just for it to have the tinest effect... After 7 doc visits, 5 different medications, nothing really made me feel better...

    However, pot helps. A LOT. I remember the first time I ever smoked pot, I was 13, and I realized what it was like to feel "normal feelings" and not just emptiness all of the time.



    As for a reason it SHOULDN'T be made legal... Rise in DUIs maybe?

    I'd rather have marijuana legalized than have majority of americans be subjected to addicting prescription medications like oxycodone etc.

    The main reason it's illegal is it because it can make paper and wood at a much cheaper rate being less tax money from them but in some countrys were cannabis could make more profit off selling the cannabis. I don't smoke pot just feel like adding this.
