Whats more trusting? Vouches or donations?

Unfortunately, I had a great friend of mine who happened to scam over 1B 07 GP, and just happened to be a donator/SVU :/

So this started to make me wonder:

Do you either deem a person more trustworthy that has:

A) Vouches, but NO DONATION

or

B) DONATION, but NO VOUCHES

 

Depends on the amount donated, amount of vouches and how much $$ was involved in those trades

 

Who scammed

 

Vouches and donations sometimes, but mainly vouches.

Quite frankly neither really matter, donation amount is worthless and so is vouch count especially when a lot of people have quantity over quality vouches and a lot of people have an amount they'll scam for as seen in countless previous scamquits. In your specific scenario I would certainly find someone more trustworthy with some decent vouches but no donation as opposed to someone who shows up, donates a fair bit but has absolutely no vouches. Donation amount and SVU at this point are pretty much meaningless and only set a minimum amount that the user is going to scam for. A lot lies within the person and PM was just a piece of shit. His scam history went back years and continued for months afterwards, and let's face it he's probably ban evading right now planning to scamquit again either when he feels like it or when he gets caught again as he's done a number of times.

 

I would say vouches depending on the type of vouch - Donations are definitely a factor, but I would say that I really only pay attention to $100+ in donations.

But yeah I was referring to Joseph_1993, I did some training for him and he would always pay me upfront no questions asked; I deemed him very trustworthy, but it's such a shame to see him scam quit and scam SO much from SO many people.
So it just made me curious to ask this question!

 

Look at everything.

Donation amount, SVU, vouches, post count, minis, attitude on the forum, past scam reports.

 

Not amount of vouches, but quality and from who.

Vouches, if I had to choose. From there it's, 'who's vouched?', 'what are they worth?', and 'what kind of trades are the vouches for?'

It should never be a simple decision though. It's important to be thorough, and Farcast makes a good point.

Donor literally means nothing as half the vaders nowdays just donate $200-$300 and chargeback after they scam

Vouches are everything so long as they werent the one going first all the time

 

Anyone could scam quit at any time regardless of vouch/donation amount, probably just wiser to do bulk trades in increments to minimize your losses when shit hits the fan.

 

i've seen a $1k donor scam for $2k and get away with it
