Rare miniranks to promote thread creation

I'm in full support of this!

Every section has staff running them, and should take notice of active contributors on the forum. As FlyingToast previously mentioned, an infraction could be handed to members that attempt to spam threads without realistic reasons behind them. If a user gets caught spamming threads after two or three times, the reward system could be de-activated for those user accounts.

 

matthew is behind the idea, and it seems like it's hopefully something we can tie into xen shortly after its release

I'd love to see this happen. When mini's were first released they were basically being handed out like candy. Great incentive to promote activity and revitalize the market for them!

Always in support of free miniranks; rules would have to be enforced obviously though because of spam

 

it's a good idea tbh, but i'd just hope that it wouldn't devalue miniranks in general because there'd be a lot more in circulation longer-term

i'm sure if the % was small enough to be rewarding & maintain the rarity of miniranks it'd be great in practice though!

 

Let's get some of these good suggestions moving.

Is this what you guys are talking about? Can we also appreciate the thread creativity in SF?

 

A donor $500 donor perk could be made, let's say, 'Display 40 miniranks instead of 30'. Or a $750 one. This suggestion made me think of that in the recent light of people saying "not enuf perks for $500 yet, we n33d moar." Or maybe I need another reason to up my donor rank.

Either way, I support this idea.
