    How am I going?

I can definitely see improvement across the work, well done.

My personal favourite is Ed Sheeran's thread. I can see that you're beginning to become more content-aware and using a smoother and more consistent palette.

A point to consider - it's important to tweak drop shadows and outer glows so that they are the right distance away from the text/objects and the right opacity and colour; you are by no means limited to a standard black 100% opaque shadow!

Also consider borders around flat backgrounds. For example, a 2-3mm white/grey border around the Ed Sheeran thread with a slight shadow would help separate it from the Sythe colours and make it look less sudden (and almost chaotic).

Good work so far though. I really appreciate seeing a keen and budding new artist in the making!

I really appreciate all the feedback, I'm fairly confident with PS using it through school and university but just decided to give this ago with a different style, loving playing around. Also can't wait for my Wacom to arrive :)

in terms of composition the questing thread is my favourite too :p

Great work man :) Keep it up dudee!

The ed sheeran ones are my fav, you should try adding a border or maybe play with some transparent backgrounds :)

    Transparent bg
Try making some text, removing the background layer so it looks like its on nothing at all. > Then when you are happy save the file as .Png and upload it, it should then show transparent on any page over the web and look sleek!
    Border
New layer> Make a rectangle selection > Once desired area selected click edit and add a stroke inside the selection for 1-2px,> This will border off your pictures nicely and there are loads of things you can do with this tool!

Sorry if you already know this, from your examples it looks like you are mastering many things already, but this might help others who are just starting out :)

Great work pal, can defiantly see an improvement in your work from start to finish. Not sure if you have already but maybe try some 3D stuff?

Yeah, graphics round here do take a bit of getting used to. You'll catch on eventually and to be honest it looks like you are already beginning to!

Graphics tablets are an absolutely priceless investment for any designer. I look forward to seeing what you can produce with one of those.

I am amazed to even consider this being your first project with a graphics tablet! For me, the outline is a little obvious and a little to thin around the hair. Try using the "Round blunt medium stiff" brush for the outline at a relevant thickness and almost practising where your hand will be moving before eventually pressing down each time you make the stroke. It'll help, trust me!

MUCH MUCH MUCH better! I love the internal border and I'm glad to see you're learning to use the perspective tool to add light/a platform under the characters. Keep up the good work!!
