Powerleveling ban?

What the heck is a "Power leveling" Ban? Obviously I know there are power leveling services, but how could Jagex call a shot like that? Just based off of IP changes?

And how the account was acting ingame, they've probably been monitoring for a while.

 

I have never heard of a "power leveling" ban before, are you sure it was specifically listed as one?

 

I'm on the same boat as Meteor, never heard of it but it sounds scary if this is true.

I could understand a account sharing ban but not a power leveling ban

 

Yeah that's very old though, I'm pretty sure they don't dish those out anymore.
They must have realized irregular playing times & duration's matched with a different IP address and massive XP gains.

 

Very interesting ban, yeah; I know LOTS of players that powerlevel themselves. Not sure how this would pass.

 

When free trade was removed, the only RWT you could of had is having the Chinese log onto your account and farm green drags for you/level for you.

Power leveling ban usually falls around those lines. This is from the days where jagex had a massive hard on for any RWT activity. (removing free trade lol)

 

Never heard of this ever, maybe u went too hard and played like 300 hrs in a week

I actually have an RWT offence from around the same date that is just listed as RWT minor. Here's the reasoning Jagex provided:


It's likely that a "power leveling" minor is an archaic offence type that just falls under RWT now.

Strange. It seems fitting though, that they wouls have been giving those bans out, back when they were handing out RWT bans like candy.

 

Interesting. Have never heard of such a ban at all. They have probably stopped dishing this type of ban as that was back in 2009 in the screenshot.

 

Ban will result from Account sharing, but it's not that easy to proove since many users and players use VPNs to hide their realy identity.
