Did anyone join in 2005 and scamquit in 2015?

 

The thing is that this doesn't at all apply to scamming on Sythe. There are very real repercussions. There have been cases where we have also contacted real life authorities. It doesn't come without risk at all. The people who scam are going out on a limb that nothing will come of it, when there is very real potential for them to be absolutely wrong.

As for the ban rate - like someone mentioned previously, you'd be shocked at how many people we ban just for ban evasion. Scammers on here are honestly, for the most part, recycled users. There are a lot of frameworks in place on the site to prevent people from returning, but they're not perfect. Those mechanisms exist because of that recurring threat.

 

Yeah, I almost bought an account from someone who just got tagged for ban evasion. Whats crazy was thw post count and credibility this person had! I wonder if he created a scamming account prior to the account he had all the trust on, or after his first account got banned he then went and created an acclunt and built up trust one it.
I dont understand the scenario fully.

 

Oh i know not arguing this point at all just defending myself after being thrown under the bus for posting a known fact.

 

The ban rate was higher years ago, due to stricter rules, certain corrupt individuals. I think the vast majority of bans these days tend to be ban evaders and newish accounts that have joined for the sole purpose to scam. That being said, nothing ever changes and people are cunts.

People even get banned by accident or for dumb reason, e.g i've been banned 4 times.

 

A lot of people don't realize how important reputation is and how a bad one can come to haunt you. People scam right now because they see short term gain, when in reality, if they stick around for the long term, they could have the potential/opportunity to profit much more from being a legitimate user. Moral of the story, don't burn bridges.
