    Is Bitcoin going to die?

It was stable for a while at like ~$230 ish but now it's fluctuating pretty heavily between $360-$440 ish. I sincerely doubt that bitcoins are going to die though. In the current techonological age we are living in it will only get more popular I think. Will take some time as a lot of people still do not know what a Bitcoin is or how it works but eventually I hope we can all just pay McDonalds or w/e with your Bitcoins via forinstance your cellphone.

Saw a video from USA news organisation in which they tried to live with Bitcoins only. In my country this is not relevant at all as almost no organisations use it yet.

I never heard of bitcoin untill I came to this site. I really dont see the point i see absolutely 0 value in bitcoin. To me this has no real value sure you can cash it out for real value but next to no businesses take bitcoin they want real world cash and this is just some unregulated internet cash. IF more business took it it might catch on. YOu could educate me and others all you want unless it has a mass appeal and real world business start using I see no value and no point it because i cant use it for anything other then users transactions on this site. ITs just unregulated and irreversible transactions all it see in it is a hacker/scammers dream.

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

not true on several points. plenty of businesses accept it, it's nigh untraceable, and the technology behind it is valuable (esp. to fintech firms)

More and more business are slowly getting used to the use of Bitcoins. The mining proces of Bitcoins is decently stable which makes sure that Bitcoins don't drop or go up in a huge way. I just hope that they are going to accept Bitcoins in more businesses in my country. So far there is only one big company I can think of which is the biggest (dutch) take-out ordering website.

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

It looks like BTC is making a come back yet again, however, I am still concerned for its long term survival. Every now and again I read that certain governments wish to eradicate BTC or replace it with their own version. What do you guys think?

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

The reason that Bitcoin is useful in the first place is because it isn't government currency. Government currency is all counterfeited - they can print as many dollars or euros as they can spend. The reason Bitcoin is valuable is because you can't just print more Bitcoin.

As for the future of Bitcoin, I doubt that Bitcoin itself will continue to persist as the most used crypto because of its technical infancy compared to others. This may become more relevant as the network slows down, and force a switch to an altcoin with a better technological base.

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

I agree that bitcoin's appeal is that it isn't controlled by the gov't and therefore can't be mass produced out of thin air. I also see an alternate form of bitcoin eventually overtaking bitcoin as well, I just haven't figured out which one it will be.

By eventually, what kind of a time frame are you thinking? Do you think it will die out in months? Years? Decades?

If it dies, it will be reborn like a pheonix rising from its ashes.

It won't die, it's currently growing actually (especially in asian countries), not referring to the value but it will also probably raise in the future.

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

I don't see bitcoin dying any time soon, I think that there needs to be looked at the technical aspect of the currency though, I heard somewhere that at some point the amount of available bitcoins that can be mined will run out, as long as developers continue to keep the technical side on track, i can see bitcoin becoming bigger and bigger. And maybe one day... One day we will be able to purchase a can of coke in the supermarket with bitcoin! :p

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

Highly doubt it will, but even with bitcoin dead, it just leaves room for other crypto-currencies to shine. It'd be neat seeing LTC finally go through the roof in price.

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

I wish I got into Bitcoin earlier then I did. I remember being on sythe years ago when a mod told everyone they should get behind it. Then it was 1:1 and how wonderful life would be now if I had invested.

    @pureaddiction

The reason BTC is where it is, is because it's anonymous.

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

I don't believe Bitcoin will fall.. In all means because of the exclusive service providers + it's mainstream adoption.

I believe strongly there will be a similar ecosystem as the Internet started with as per all growth / inflated publicity on this rock solid currency.

If you compare before & after this cryptocurrency existed; the Digital Revolution has created a need for it, thus resulting on it's assurance.

TOR helps keep bitcoin alive. Also its one of the few fast ways to transfer money on the internet without any risk of getting a chargeback

    Is Bitcoin going to die?

yeah, cp, a mod from awhile ago, made a thread in early 2012 about buying and selling bitcoins, and said he had a lot in stock. wonder if he got rich off of them. I think Sythe himself was also into bitcoins around that time too but idk for sure obviously because im not him

tons of people are kicking themselves for not accepting bitcoin. in late 2011 a guy offered me 6 bitcoins for an original Xbox live gamertag and i didnt know wtf it was so i accepted liberty reserve instead.
