    For anyone who hasn't seen this, you need to. It's a brand new series, 4 episodes unto the first season so far. It has a James Bond type feel to it and the character development and plot is absolutely amazing so far.

    Finished all 6 episodes over 2 days.

    Was definitely worth the watch. Well casted, solid plot progression, and not too far fetched.

    8/10 overall.

    It is such a good TV show. Well progressed and great in most aspects.

    Tom Hiddleston's acting was impeccable. Would love to see more of his works in the future.

    Desperately hoping that they bring out another season, 6 episodes was enough to give me figurative blue balls.

    This series is off to an amazing start IMHO. Great acting, character progression and development was on key, the casting was impeccable.

    The series itself was derived from a novel of the same name by John le Carré. Unfortunately there won't be anymore episodes. :(

    Fun little trivia for you though - This does involve the ending so I'll put a spoiler tag here:

    In the novel, the story has an ambiguous ending. Pine is saved and he and Jed live quietly as a couple in England, but Roper and his corrupt allies complete their deal and profit from it, while Burr and the honest American enforcement officers working with him are discredited.

    For some reason they changed this in the TV show, I like the bittersweet ending of the novel; but none the less it was a good ending.

    Good production values and acting but loads of terrible writing in this especially in basic plot and character motivations and the dimensionality of the characters.

    Without dropping hopefully any spoilers:
    1. Most female characters are literal whores and completely useless, most male characters are white-knights, and this is basically all the definition that's offered for them
    2. Why not just kill the bad guy at first opportunity when the "good guys" point a gun at him?
    3. Why go after him at all? Of all the people involved in the war-weapons industry (manufacturers, purchasers/governments, soldiers, generals) the middle-man is the least destructive and most interchangeable/random party.

    It's like they couldn't find any private/capitalist interest in war (surprise, surprise, considering war is the opposite of trade) so they invented one to go after. In reality weapons are made under government contract and tight regulation and dropped into war zones for "moderate rebels" to use against a particular state's enemies. Those weapons then find their way into the hands of the state's enemies then suddenly there's a pretext for invasion and further war, hence the perpetual war we see today.

    Just finished it and thought it was fantastic. Had a quality about it that reminds me of older films. A sort of class you don't find much anymore. The sex wasn't drawn out. The comedy relief was rare and not overdone. There wasn't explosions that didn't make sense or weren't relevant. Reminded me of being a kid discovering television.
