I just downloaded CSGO

Any tips or different keyboard setups i should be using, what do you all prefer?

I actually suck so far...

Are different buy able guns/knifes more powerful i assume?

 

Every game has its own econ. When you finish all rounds and start a new game, your econ is fresh.

The cool looking skins/knives do nothing different, it isn't p2w

 

Play some deathmatch first, communicate with your team, learn call-outs, learn smokes, aim for the head, don't run/walk while shooting, crouch as less as possible, make friends who take the game serious and learn to deal with russians.

 

I learn alot about the game from watching youtubers, and while my aim sucks my game sense carrys me through games most of the time.

I suggest watching youtubers like 3kliksphillip, warowl, Yellow, and i'm sure you will come across some others along the way. Search for these youtubers and tag cs:go in the search. for example: "Yellow CS:GO"

also look up some guides on how to download workshop maps, there is 1000's of maps you can practice on in the workshop, aim maps are very helpful but there is even a map for you to choose a crosshair!

Learn 2 maps first, I recommend Dust 2 and Cache because they're both extremely easy to master. Learn the call outs and common camping spots.

Download training maps such as Recoil training (Can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=330128769). Use his recoil training map to learn the patterns for AK and M4. You should train your recoil at least 30 minutes a day, or 30 minutes everytime you play. Overtime you'll master the patterns and you'll use the map to simply warm up your spray. Sometimes I don't even play, I just log-in and do 30 minutes of spray and aim training and then log off.

Crosshair is also important. Check out this link for a CROSSHAIR GENERATOR (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=308490450). It also features the crosshairs that professionals use, you can check them out to see whether you feel comfortable with any of them. You can also make your own custom crosshair and have it saved. I'd also recommend downloading his viewmodel workshop, you can change the positioning of the weapon on your screen.

Play deathmatch more so than casual at first. Why? Deathmatch is better for aiming. You can play casuals later when you've improved your aim and are now seeking game sense. There are also community servers which you can play retake games, it's a custom match where you are made to defend the bomb site or retake it, these matches are very fast but very effective in teaching you how to hold and take sites.

Watch professional matches, see how they play. You can go on Youtube and watch POV matches of certain players, watch their crossahair placement and how they check their corners, also watch their angles (the angles they run, do they stick to the wall? or do they run out wide).

Learn effective flashbangs and smokes for each map you play, smokes and flashes can be very effective if placed right, it gives you an advantage so use it.

Use a low sensitivity, 400DPI and maybe 1-2 sensitivity. It's much easier to aim with low sensitivity, it may take you a while to get used to but your aim is will be much better than if it were at a high sensitivity. This was true for me, I used 2.5 sensitivity and 400 DPI at LEM, lowered it down to 1.4 and managed GE after the change (I practiced movement also).

 

Skins are cosmetic. Watch videos on youtube. They helped me get better I'm an LE now

 

Talking from a competitive point of view, crouching is the best thing you can get a habit into. It will essentially always give you that extra aim assist and simply "dodge" the opponents bullet -- providing they aim for your head.

 

Should note that it's not optimal to crouch in certain positions because you're an easy target seeing as you're not mobile whilst crouching. I suggest learning how to straffe shoot also.

 

Another thing that helped me is an RGB Corsair Gaming Keyboard.

Its clearly personal preference but I have seen alot of pros using it.

 

I wouldn't get anything because pros use it. What matters most is what you're used to. I do think gaming mices and a fine headset help though.

 

I highly suggest getting the 5$ pack (not sure what the name is) I used to play it from time to time and I learned a lot from it.

Focus on call outs, movement, gun control for starters.

Then move onto Intermediate things.

 

How did it end up going then haha, my advice if you still need it would be to get a big mouse mat. Having a large surface area really allows you to turn on people alot quicker imo, without the fear of your mouse flying off the table.
