Some fun statistics

I made some stickies warning people about playerauctions.com and in the past 2 weeks, the 8 stickies have received 1312 views. What's more fun IMO is the view breakdown by sticky as it gives a rough picture of how popular rs3 is compared to 07 at least from an account-trading standpoint. As of today, here are the numbers:

EoC Mains 3-99: 42
EoC Mains 100+: 236
EoC Pures 3-99: 71
EoC Pures 100+: 39
07 Mains 3-79: 109
07 Mains 80+: 439
07 Pures 3-69: 205
07 Pures 70+: 161

So the 07 accounts get about 2.5x as many views as the EoC accounts which may or may not surprise anyone

Perhaps another hypothesis is that 07 players prefer to pk or do pvm and not grind out the stats so they buy in rather than the existing playerbase that eoc had that simply continued playing

 

It's not a shock. 07 is more popular than RS 3. 75% of our gold sales are 07.

 

Maybe rs3 players know how to spell market

Jagex is a model for failure. Mechscape failed. Sellar Dawn failed. Transformers Universe failed. War of Legends failed. Funorb failed.

They inherited one amazing game and all they had to do was not fuck it up - TWICE. Think about just how shitty your company performs if your most successful business move ever was to re-release a then 6 year obsolete copy of your game and undo millions of hours of progress just because you fucked it up so bad the first time.
