Two suggestions for the RS account sales section

One:

You're only allowed to put up one thread per overarching section. What I mean by this is there are currently 4 different sections each within the RS3 and 07 account sales section. People will conform to the rules by only posting one thread in each; however, it's not uncommon to see a user post a thread for the same account in all 4 sections. My suggestion is to only allow one thread for the entire 07 account sales section for that account (and one in the RS3 account sales section should it have RS3 content on it as well). They would, however, be allowed to post another thread for a different account in a different section. It may seem confusing, but here is an example:

OS Main Accounts: Levels 3-79 -- Selling the same one account
OS Main Accounts: Level 80+ -- Selling the same one account
OS Pures & Skillers: Levels 3-69 -- Selling the same one account
OS Pures & Skillers: Level 70+ -- Selling the same one account

^- That would not be allowed

OS Main Accounts: Levels 3-79 -- Selling one account here
OS Pures & Skillers: Level 70+ -- Selling a different account here

^- That, however, would be allowed

Two:

If a user specifies that they have untradeable content on their account (torso, fire cape, etc.) They must include a picture of that within their thread. There are four current picture criteria that you must include in a thread:

• Stats
• Offense history (banmeter)
• Wealth (since specified)
• Lobby screen showing the days of membership left (since specified)

I'm suggesting a fifth bullet point:

• Untradeable items (if specified)

Support both, I was more inclined to just merge the account sections, but this works too. Just more the staff have to clean up, though.

 

For the first one, is that something that's commonly done? The sections are set up so that an account would only fit into one of them, so in your example, three of those threads should be locked for simply not belonging in those sections. I don't know if I would support your suggestion though just for those weird cases like range tanks where they could belong in either the pure or main section, and wanting to have a thread in both of the relevant sections isn't at all unreasonable.

Second one should be added for sure, thought it was already a requirement. Maybe just add it to an existing bullet like: Screenshot of the account's wealth and/or untradeables (If either is specified)

 

First suggestion, it's not commonly done but it can definitely be annoying when it does happen. For those weird cases, I think I would be ok with having 2 threads (one in Mains and one in Pures), as 4 is unnecessary because of combat levels. Input on this?
For the second one - anything that's specified should be posted in pictures, definitely. Support for sure.

Anything that keeps it organized I have full support in. I know theres been at least 1 occasion where my post has been second paged within an hr due to people posting numerous accounts where they could have all been in 1 thread. With sythe growing daily this will probly end up being a must imo

 

The 2nd one is a really good suggestion.
As a future account buyer, I would love to see that implemented.

Really support this, although what about accounts such as zerkers that people want to get more exposure on? If someone were looking for a pure a zerker would fit into that category, but the same goes for a main. Personally if I was looking for a lvl 70+ pure and noticed a lvl 95 zerker I might be interested since it would fill that pking fix, but it can also function in the game and actually kill things (lets be honest 1 def can be a pita). Vice versa applies for searching for a main account.


The problem with the account sales section/market is that it's full of scammers and freshly made sythe accounts looking for quick sales and equally quick recoveries. There should be fairly strict requirements to be able to sell an account, because people are getting scammed daily and the section is a cesspool.

You can say "oh well take precautions, only buy accounts from trusted members, etc" but a lot of new members who aren't used to the way the markets here work, or understand how "trust" is generated, are being victimized for good chunks of change on a regular basis. We shouldn't be supporting these crooks in the first place and it makes the whole community look bad.

Wait what? This is already maintained. When I used to seldom the RS account section, if I saw that, I would report the thread and it would be locked/infracted.

Scenario: User A has a level 80 pure. He puts it in OS Pures & Skillers: Level 70+. He then proceeds to place it inside OS Pures & Skillers: Levels 3-69. Someone would see this and report the latter as it is within the wrong section. The moderator would then notice (or notice by later report) that the user has already got that account for sale in the correct section and as such the thread will be locked.

I thought this was already something that was moderated.
