Original Owner of Account

I have a question, it is my understanding that the original owner of an account is responsible for the account if it is ever recovered from another user.

for example.

I bought an account from Skate22, who bought his account from probemas as seen here -> http://www.sythe.org/os-main-accounts-level-80/1881563-maxed-melee-staker-11-prayer-affordable.html

I have purchased the account from skate after confirming Axelus was the original owner.

Upon purchasing it, Axelus decided to give me mixed answers saying he would help the buyer, wasn't responsible if the account is stolen or anything of that nature and that "he might try and help"...

I went ahead and bought the account after I saw it is indeed his responsibility and he can't put a rule over a sale/rule on sythe, leaving the owner stuck with the account/failing to mention he can never resell it.

he then tells me the deal is between me and skate, which he isn't wrong.

My problem is now after being told that original owners are indeed responsible he took it upon himself to contact the person who bought the account from me and tell him he will not be receiving help, he also tells him that the person who bought it off of him has the power to recover it.....

My question is, why would you confirm on someones selling thread you are indeed the original owner, and then contact the buyer/next seller that you have no part in it and that the account isn't secure in your eyes making it in possible to legitimately sell?
he also mentions, he has had accounts recovered previously, so in reality. Axelus isn't selling legitimate accounts/confirming legitimate ownership of them if he can't recover them...

I need mods to address this, no scams have occurred, but i do need axelus properly informed he is indeed responsible if a recovery does take place, as he is the primary creator of the account. he had to play the account its first 3 months to max it which is the original IP address/Mac/Location.

Someone who simply buys the account and plays on it with no previous passwords/information (even if they had it) could not have the power to recover the account.

OSRSgod has just asked me for clarification and i'd like to provide him with that as i was told, original owners are responsible.

Just a little befuddled as to why axelus would go out of his way to mention this, let alone confirm he is the original owner and then not make it possible for anyone to sell the account..

Problem is when accounts change too many hands they get locked more often, an account can also be banned because it has changed too many hands (I have proof of this, happened to me when I bought an account).
Reselling an account is not the best idea, usually makes things worse and I can understand probemas' frustrations about this.
It is also hard for him to keep track who the real current owner is, he can recover the account but how is he sure he is giving it back to the actual current owner ?(someone can buy an account, resell it (without the original owner knowing this) and then go to the OO and ask to recover the account because he lost it. Now the guy who bought the account loses his account unless he has proof that he actually bought it, and it's also possible the items on the account are taken from the reseller when he is given the account back, etc.. )
I understand you are looking for a mod's opinion but I just wanted to say dealing fairly with these situations is extremely hard and putting all the blame on the OO is not the solution.

 

Problem is, i bought the account under the assumption the account wasnt resold a hundred time, what Axelus failed to mention was that he has trouble gaining access to his accounts after a sale... he felt the need to reach out and contact my buyer and mention hes had his accounts recovered before, now the problem is. 1) why are you still selling your accounts. 2) why even confirm you're the OO. 3) how do we not know maybe he recovers them?

 

Sounds tricky, but at the very least Probemas will have to attempt to regain the account back, and he should if he's the original owner. If not, he needs to contact the original owner.

He also shouldn't be giving the details to anyone. 99% of the time the details are useless and it can't be recovered by a different user and only by the original owner. It's more likely to get locked than recovered.
