Fix this please?

yeah, because as you've said, it's really hard to track down vouches in cases like this. i have definitely edited titles to reflect accurate vouch counts, and i wholeheartedly approve of your suggestion, but people use vouches to bump their threads prior to the 8-hour limits, which puts us in a tough position as staff - we can't reasonably infract everyone who posts a vouch on a seller's thread - and thus this is a grey area.

might be an interesting thought to run past richard actually; i wonder what he thinks about this (my guess is probably "it's a free market and people can post where they did business, as long as they don't post twice," but that makes keeping track of vouches difficult). taking a step back though, vouches are a somewhat intangible measure of trust, and it should be up to users trading people with vouches to determine the trustworthiness of the vouched users based on quantity/quality/etc. of vouches, in addition to other factors; if someone's lying about their vouch count, can you really trust them? and while i wish we could clarify what vouch counts really are, it's tough to do that in our current environment

 

It should not be up to any external sources to count up a business's vouches. The business should have documented proof of their claims. I understand the practice of estimating vouches; however, I simply do not agree with it. You references Alex2012. He quotes every single vouch up to 6,000 to be able to say he has 6,000 vouches:

Comb through his pages and you'll see he quotes them all.

 

I never knew people did this? Is there a specific reason why not to list them all in 1 post? Or is it because 6k in one post would be too much for the page ?

 

There's usually a limit to the amount of characters & BBCode you can use in a single forum post. You're going to hit one of those two things if you're trying to quote 6k posts.
