Amount Traded [History of Sythe.org]

Just wondering, does anyone actually have an even close, even remotely rough estimate, on how much USD value worth in transactions have happened because of Sythe.org?

MMORPG (Random person I just seen) I know claimed a few million USD in transactions alone here. Not saying he has or has not had that many, But that's only a single person if it is true.

And I know this is definately one of the top sites for Virtual goods and it's been extremely active for as long as I can remember.


Also, I've seen tens of thousands of dollars in donated amounts to this website at all, which means their is definately quite a bit of money being made here.


Does anyone have any idea (Even to the nearest couple of million USD estimate) of how much money has been transacted through people who met on this website?​

 

My guess is somewhere near 30-40 million throughout the years.

A guy had "5 Mil+ Donator", which is a legacy rank for 5m gp donator lol, not 5m USD.

 

I can confirm that nobody has donated 5 million to the site lol

Previously bond holders could see all donations to the website (although how far back we could go I cannot confirm, mainly because of how many pages it was) along with other certain information that we could access.

wow that is a very interesting number, didnt think it would be anywhere near that. Just image how much sythe would have made if they had a transaction fee on all sales for like 2%, much like PA has. 2% out of 500 million would be a nice sum, either way i am quite amazed by how much has been traded through here.

 

Just think about the lone numbers of users like r2p, arcus, won gold and bogla. Bogla is new but the others have easily handled multiple millions.

We have someone claiming $500M and Superflous agreeing to it, Where did the estimates come from? Anyone that can prove it's even $200M+. Because 30-50M i can kind of believe, but half a billion dollars is actually kind of suprising.

Especially considering, No offence to Bus at all, But the person who originally claimed this number, was inaccurate about the fact that $5Million was not donated to this site in the same post.

Okay... So here's the deal with this... Bus is just a tool... pulling numbers out of his ass.

I highly doubt anyone has actually calculated anything of this sort on the site, so everyone is just speculating. The fact of the matter is, the large gold sites actually do a shit ton of business, it's all too possible that it's hundreds of millions.

 

I know I buy very bulk gold, multiple times a week.
And Bogla/R2pleasent/Many other gold sites here, Never really have more than 3B Rs3 stock (Approx $750 worth).

So I mean I know they gotta make money, but I'm thinking at most hundreds a day, not thousands/millions.

And to say a hundred million dollars, that's an extremely high number to come up with, at least without any sort of information leading to proof of even 75Million or so.

If you can't even prove beyond a reaonable doubt that 75Million has been traded, to assume hundred"S" of millions would be just throwing out a random number.

 

You have to remember that people sell gold too. From 2006, do you know how much gold people bought/sold? The big companies ALONE have traded millions. Made millions, no. But traded millions? Yes. That's not even counting the tons of little gold shops other people have. for 10 straight years. GP used to be $10/m lol.
