Would an account be recoverable if

I was just thinking of a way to prevent new sellers from recovering accounts, if I were to create an account and do tutorial island on it and also verify its email and then sell that account onto someone in order for them to re-sell it would the "middleman" (person buying to sell) be able to recover it?

So basically it would go down like I create an account confirm the email and do tut island ----> someone then buys this off of me and trains the account knowing they can advertise it as unrecoverable ----> the guy gets more because someone trusted could recover and not the seller himself. Scam reports for users go down.

Its basically just a way for new users to train accounts and sell them themselves gaining some vouches while insuring buyers that everything is in safe hands.

I'm getting off topic now, all I really need to know is if I were to create an account set email do tut island everything from my MAC my IP, but then someone trains it for weeks or months could they recover or could only I recover and how would the situation change if I gave them the email login and password too.

I would like to point out that I know that I am not the most trusted guy here as I have only been here a few months, but anyone could use this idea of course although I'm not sure if anyone even would

I think the odds of the "middleman" recovering it would dramatically increase if you gave him the email account attached to it. Also, what I've mainly heard is the most important thing in recovering an account is THE ORIGINAL IP. So if you submit your recovery from the creation IP, you're 99% certain to successfully recover it.

I have a lot of doubt the "middleman" would be able to manually recover it without original IP, and email account.

It's possible that that it could be recoverable but ultimately you would be able to recover it even if he did as it would be created under your mac address/ip.

 

I would imagine if he knew old passwords creation date and whatnot he would atleast have a good shot of recovering it, but I'm sure if you have creation IP you could just get it right back.

The problem would be if the 2nd buyer left any wealth on the acc

 

Just change the password a few times and hold the registered email. This, along with the creation IP, should give you a 100% recovery rate.

As for him being able to recover it, I doubt it unless you let him change the registered email.

 

I don't really think it matters.

I middlemanned an account trade about a month ago and the account was recently recovered by the seller, the buyer however, was able to recover the account by altering the information.

If a person creates an account on an ip, then gives it to someone else to sell, both the seller and the buyer could be attempting to recover the account, but either ip won't match the creation ip - the account would just be returned to whoever played the most on it in the hopes that that person was the creator of the account.

 

I should imagine all of the answers above have helped you, however I'd like to share my own personal experience with account recoveries.

Back in the old days before Evolution Of Combat came out I had months on end battling to recover an account which was rightfully mine after a security breach on my computer gave the other party involved an advantage to change passwords and alternate the registered email addresses in their favor and this was all just because they were in possession of just a password and a few previous passwords.

I'd suggest only dealing with those reputable even if it's just someone purchasing an account, that way will prevent any further troubles with account trades I hope.

 

Depends, to be honest. But the vast majority of the time: no. Only the original owner is able to recover the account. Recoveries are dependent on location. If the location of the appeal does not match the creation location, it's almost always denied.

 

Thanks for the help, I was just thinking there could be a system put in place to help deal with recoveries whereby a trusted seller creates multiple accounts and sells them to someone that would like to train accounts in order to sell them himself. It would avoid all recoveries make the seller more legit and give the trusted dude a bit more cash

 

Example: Loginname is "[email protected]" Regristered email is "[email protected]" and the account has been sold to you, and you get the email also then its allready 80% you'r account. Change the password for like 10 times, ( this helps alot ) , get an auth... enabled on it. Let it connect tru you'r facebook. Log in and out multible times. Ur ip leaves a trace. When you have been playing on it with ur ip and you hold the same email adress that the login name is, basically no1 can recover it anymore. Thatswhy AWLAYS when you buy an account, ask for the email adress password also, ( dont forget to change settings on email , the old owner might have had some security on it to recover it also)

Never buy the account if the owner says " i cant sell it its my personal emailadress"

 

Even then, they can still recover it. If you submit a recovery from the same IP as the account was created, you WILL get it back.
