Yeah shoes are really the only thing that I actually participate in branding, the rest of my warddrobe focuses on looking good but avoiding brands. It's somewhat inevitable with shoes however when getting into sneakers and that's fine as long as branding isn't overdone so as to avoid being a hypebeast. I'm dressing well to create a personal image and strong first impression as well as the confidence that looking good brings, not be an advertisement for a brand.

I know you're probably trolling but it's something that interests me so I'll bite

I'm not going to prescribe one way of dressing that plenty of other people seem to do, there is no one style that looks better than others, all have their merits and it's just personal taste as to what they enjoy. All styles can look good or bad though depending on execution of outfits. When it comes to execution there are a few key points:

1. Fit. The fit of the clothing is extremely important to how well something looks on you. It really is the difference between you wearing a shirt and a shirt wearing you. Now there really is a lot of subjectivity here also as fit differs a lot on personal taste, body type and on the individual garment (such as deliberately oversized styles) but if it fits well for the desired aesthetic rather than looking like a tent, that's a solid start. It doesn't matter if you've dropped $50 or $5 on a tee, if the $5 fits considerably better, it will look considerably better. It goes a long way to the overall composition of the fit also when considering proportions etc.
2. Colour. Fashion is another aspect of design and we're all walking canvas's. This means colour theory can be quite important and a very powerful tool when considering concepts complimentary or contrasting colours, hues etc. This will allow you to touch on concepts such as creating focal points, monotone outfits, the list goes on.
3. The little things. This is probably the hardest thing to get right and takes a long time to happen but you'll get there. Having a watch on that matches that outfit, when to wear a cap and when to steer clear. Matching your belt to your shoes and watch etc. Getting the little things elevates you above the rest.
