New Rank System

The new rank system in a nutshell according to the community. Lol.

 

Won 6 games in a row, at gold nova 1... still no rank up... wtf? And if i lose 2 i derank each time

 

Lol, stumbled upon that on Imgur last night, totally accurate.

 

It's not a new system, it's the same system with the bar raised. It's for the best since there were more globals than all the silvers and the first nova combined.

 

My horrid story is that I keep running into derankers. I'd rather get completely stomped on by the enemy (16-0) than have to face derankers, they ruin the game. One of the games my team won 16-4 (against derankers) and somehow I managed to derank to DMG, I did team kill a member. I'm not sure if that was why I deranked.. In all honesty my only issue with the new ranked system is that there are a lot of derankers around.

 

Oy, so I was playing a comp game, first in a while (i warmed up though of course) and we won. I was like sweet maybe i'll rank up this game, I remember winning a lot prior to taking a break. Then it happened. I deranked from a win, and I was like teh fook???!@!##@!. So I played another comp game, we tied. I wonder what happened next, oh another derank. I decided i'm going to take another break before I play csgo again!

 

Taking another break won't do anything, basically they just moved all the ranks down so your mmr was below where you currently were. Play a bit more and you'll find out where you're actually supposed to be.

 

Haha the exact same happened to me. I deranked after a victory. I've been grinding though and managed to get promoted. I did run into a lot of derankers initially but now I'm playing games against legitimate opponents which is always fun.

 

Haha, so true. Most players need to understand that if they can't play at the level they were at before anymore they aren't made out for that rank. Now the skill is better distributed amongst the ranks.

 

They are raising the bar back to what it was in 2013 before they introduced skins and had to lower the values because of all the cod players and little kids coming to play and then leaving out of frustration from not ranking up.

Also this way globals wont be slaughtered anymore by old players and report them, hopefully now when we decide to come mess about in mm global we will actually have to try and finally be able to have fun games. We are going to test out global in a few weeks and see whats changed! So far it looks like Chris will be streaming it, not sure but once it's been decided I will leave a link here so you guys can come watch us play

I was Global Elite.

Then I lost a match.

Now I'm silver 3.

 

I've been Global ever since, haven't lost a game out of roughly 100. Good thing I play with my teammates from Trident.

Still hanging tough at about LEM, though this is solo/duo queue primarily. Should be able to get SMFC with some decent teammates, but that just doesn't happen as a solo/duo.

 

LEM prior to rank update. Had to play 1x placement to be re-ranked and it put me to nova 1 even w/ 30 kills topfragging. Not sure what to think.

 

If you don't understand how good this update was for the community, then you cannot really complain. GE was a mix of players with completely different skill levels. You would have games with tier1 pro players vsing some very very low elo Globals and you could really tell who deserved to be in the top 1% of the world by ranks.

With the update, they shifted the entry levels for the ranks to make it truly deserving to be in Global. Just because you are winning games and not ranking up or you have ranked down since the patch, doesn't mean your own skill level has changed.. Ranks are just a pissing contest. If you saw the skill difference in the high ranks before the change then you'll realize this was a definitely needed update.
