    Best Anti Virus?

I know of a web-protection which is good for anti-virus either way, but I'm swore to secrecy in not leaking what it is. (The best type of web-protection if you ask me.) The ones that block literally everything (bad) in your internet searching. Or you can choose what you wish to block.

    Malwarebytes, definitely.
    And Adblocker.

    Best Anti Virus?

Malware is constantly ahead of antiviruses, and upgrading definitions is only going to catch up to crypters that are already making viruses more undetectable. That's why I think people say a brain is enough, but sometimes a brain won't stop something you can't see if you consider adware/bloatware/anyware malware.. So I'm on board with Malwarebytes, but we used to use Avast! and I liked it a lot.

What adblocker specifically do you use? I've been using ABP but have heard that it's not the best one to use and takes up a lot of memory when it's running.

Was using McAfee until someone recommended Malwarebytes. Malwarebyes is the best IMO, I bought premium. Have been using it for a year now and have had no issues what so issue with viruses, they catch them as I go and quarantine them.

I use Norton, it's worked well for me. I got it for free when I bought my PC.

i like avast it is free and does a good job with real time protection, also has a ' boot time scan ' option that can scan your computer before any other programs get to start up! but the scanning part of avast is rather annoying, so i use malwarebytes to handle the scanning

I use a free version of Avast and premium Malwarebytes. Both work great and I have no problems, not very obtrusive and work well.

I agree that having an adblock and being smart about what you download, what files you open etc. is the best line of defense when it comes to viruses / malware.

    Best Anti Virus?

I haven't used antivirus programs (Apart from Windows Defender, which is installed by default) for many years now. I'm very considerate when it comes to downloading stuff from internet and therefore prevent most threats already from there.

Conclusion: I don't see a real need for external Antivirus in 2016 if you have common sense when it comes down to what to download and what not to.

I used to use Avast! but I've had problems with it for a while now, so I've switched to malwarebytes and it's been great. Would recommend.

    Best Anti Virus?

Every AV will detect something different from another AV. No AV is 100%, not even close, in fact. So Avast and MWB both detect different things, but not one of them is 'great' on it's own, that is just ridiculous. There is no such thing as an AV that is perfect, it takes using your brain to thwart viruses, something many people tend not to use.
