Donations

Hey there fellow Sythe.org users! My post today is concerning donations and I was wondering if there would be a way to have faster response in the donation team. Maybe adding a person or two to also manage the donations. The reason I am bringing this up is because a lot of people including myself feel as if it takes way too long for donations to get updated such as custom ranks, user titles, and higher donations. I feel that if a user on this site donates out of their pocket, they should have access to what they paid for much quicker than it has been taking ever since I have used this website and have heard all the complaints from people left and right.

Support, one of the major reasons I don't donate any money here anymore. It takes maybe 3 weeks just to upload a custom rank image.

 

Support, while the quality of the donation support is great the time it takes is a bit long for the amount users donate.

 

The one who handles donation ranks and custom images is Matthew. I'm not sure the feasibility of others handling that; however, as head of donations that is one of Matthew's responsibilities. That being said, it would be nice if other admins could potentially handle requests, but again, I'm not sure if it's feasible. If it is, then support.

User titles seem to be handled fairly quickly, so those are fine.

 

I was actually about to make the exact same thread until I saw yours.

100% support. I don't see why other, more active admins (such as n4no, dave and firez) shouldn't be able to handle this stuff. UI's get updated after 1-2 days or faster if you send them a skype message. Right now you pretty much have to be "lucky" to see Matthew online for custom ranks & custom donation amounts.

 

Nah i would let Matthew handle it. I would support the approving speed for UserTitle & Custom Ranks.

 

That's not going to happen unless it gets more staff input. You got lucky on your 3 days wait time. Pretty sure some people here had to wait 2months in the past.
Matthew is not that active anymore.

 

It's not like UI and UT and custom ranks are that big of a deal that require Matthew's personal attention. Maybe they want to keep it in the admins sure, but why not just have a global mod or 2 that have the ability to do that.

 

Pretty sure it requires an admin to do so, globals can't change UI's for example, admins can.

 

Support although I didn't have to wait very long myself to get my UI + UT approved, it could always be faster and I have heard of it taking a very long time for others.

 

Support because seriously why not? Nothing bad can come from this suggestion if implemented.

 

This has been suggested in the past, and AFAIK, only Matthew can and most likely will always be the only one able to handle donations and updating of ranks. This may change on Xenforo, don't quote me on it, however.

I know it was suggested, but as I remember that was quiet a long time ago. I mean this should be quiet important in my opinion. Like I said if people spend their money on something it should be payed attention to

 

As Dunworry said, it's an obvious support, but only if they're able to do it. I'm not sure Richard/Matthew want to let other Admins change the Donor Ranks as he has to literally create them himself (if you hover over someone with a custom rank (like Joshuag) it says Joshuag Donor, so it's actually a specific rank.

If they're able to throw the job to all Admins, I'll support that, but I'm not sure that they want to.

 

Am I missing something or is there a reason not to do the automatic one that doesn't go through a person? That's how I've done my donations so far. Or is it because I only have $25 in donations and it takes longer when you're doing 50+?

I'm in support of making donations easier to do if there is something I'm missing. I feel as though if the community here at Sythe is a major driving force in why the site remains active (because of donations paying server bills, etc.) then a suggestion like this should pass.

I also feel, however, that nothing is really going to be implemented in the near future other than rule updates or things that don't require any additions, and that is because of the xF update.

 

I don't see why they're not able to do it to be honest. The donation directly goes to the website, its not like they have to wait to "receive" the payment and in return give the person what they paid for.

 

Matthew has actually been doing a lot better lately. The first time I requested a user image it took like a month. He's been doing it within 2 weeks lately.

 

Full support, even though over the last little while i've noticed my requests have been going through quickly.

 

But guys, thats not quick. Im talking about people who are active, or the system doing it within hours maximum.
