Pretty sure this was talked about before and turned down for some reason. I don't see any reason why not though, support.

Most scam quitters sell their mini ranks before a scam quit. They may be scammers, but they aren't stupid. I'll support, but it's pointless.

While I do agree with your statement, perhaps recognizing scam quits would be a more preventative solution? Someone who is reputable and all of a sudden selling all of their mini ranks could be investigated? I mean, it would be suspicious for sure.

What do you mean "investigated"? What could you do if you saw a high-profile member selling miniranks? For all we know it could just be wanting to unload those ranks, and it wouldn't be fair to the user to put out a notice saying to deal with that user with caution. I mean, I support the idea but as someone mentioned it's sort of pointless.

Behavioral patterns, perhaps? If a seemingly reputable user suddenly chooses to deal with thousands of dollars in individual and several trades simultaneously, would this not be suspicious, should their usual trades consist of $1-499 USD/trade?

Literally spit my food out lmaooo

but honestly, this isn't really a viable solution. The mini ranks people own will not be able to cover anything substantial, and also if there are multiple victims being scammed who gets the money? It just seems to complicated and time consuming to implement effectively.

Although in some situations it may not seem like much, but getting some money in return can be a major consolation to those who have fallen victim of scams.

The money could be split between people affected.

So what are u suggesting? Give them a TWC rank before they even scammed?
Whoever dealing with the user should look up his recent activities and decide for themselves, admins cant TWC someone on the basis of him trading much more than usual suddenly.

I support this, perhaps the victims can volunteer to sell the rank, then split the profit.

Could there be more ways to compensate victims? Like their donated amount if they are not charged back? (though richard would be against this as it's probably not in his interest to do so)

How about banned users who want to be pardoned but cannot contact the original victim to repay (or the original victim is a scammer too), they can repay victims scammed by prominent members instead?

There are tons of reputable members in sandbox selling their miniranks right now. I see what you're saying, but it'll be difficult.

Is anyone aware of the reason? It doesn't make sense to me, the only issue I'm able to think of is that it'd take staff time to transfer the ranks over to the victim, but that hardly seems like a price to pay for an innocent user being able to recover at least something.

Support I guess, and I just wanted to say miniranks are worthless now no one is really paying $30-$50 for a minirank except one person Harleigh because she must have em all LOL *hint* when new miniranks come out that's the one person you should be selling new miniranks to. Whoever thought I pay a lot for miniranks got it all wrong, in the past I would buy em cheap then seller em for a much higher price, also as you can see I sold all my miniranks because they are indeed worthless. At this time most miniranks are worth between $5-$10 and the rarer ones are worth a maximum of $15-$20.

The real problem with this is the fact that hackibgs happen more often than scamquits.
What if we get it wrong and the user is allowed to return after repayment of the victims?

We have given miniranks to victims in the past, but making this a set rule is not something I'd support.
If somebody is scammed by a user with miniranks, please do state in the thread if you want to take their miniranks.
Staff can evaluate this on a case by case bases.

in the past i think we've waited a few weeks so that no disputes/pardons appear and then just given the victim the scammer's miniranks. prevents staff from middlemanning and lets them keep/sell as they please. essentially makes miniranks collateral for trades

if a user comes back after having scamquit, refunds everyone, and passes a pardon, i think we can restore their miniranks. this dilutes the minirank market very slightly but i dont think this will be common at all, and i doubt anyone cares that much
