do you even know the difference between a relational database and nosql? With web applications like forums it's hardly a good idea to go noSQL since you lose basically all table relations. Not to speak that SQL databases functions great with even millions of rows, depending on how the query/tables are structured. I would pick structure over a minor speed increase any time of the day.

Also Nodejs is written in C/C++ and you seem to think Javascript is a very solid language: I like Javascript and I use it a lot, but its architecturally one of the worst because of dynamic typing and different engines running everywhere.

Just posting this out here so people might read some stuff that is actually accurate and useful

Where did you get that you lose all table relations with NoSQL? The model is perfectly capable of upholding Web 2.0 standard applications. Its biggest limitation is maturity and a rising popularity before it's completely functional. A forum would run fine on NoSQL, though you're right in that it would offer few benefits over a regular relational database, especially since Big Rich has notified me that all Sythe's servers use SSDs now. Query time would likely be comparable, so no point in a switch. A forum running on a NoSQL paradigm would do just fine though.

Also a bunch of Node.js' basic modules are made in straight Javascript. I imagine that the heavier shit is C/++, but yeah there's a huge portion of that framework that's made in plain ol' JS.

Relational databases are relics of an older slower time. Since we have new CPUs we need to run new software with new design methodologies or the software will run slowly. Since Mongo doesn't use SQL its faster because there is one less thing between you and the data which obviously to any fourth grader makes it much faster. No one needs data stored to disks these days. Disks are too old school and we just rely on memory since servers never crash and if they do who cares since data is no important. We create data so fast these days it doesn't matter if we lose old data because we can't store that much anyway. I'm not sure where you got the idea that Node runs C++. Node runs Javascript on the backend without the need of a web browser. It certainly doesn't directly run C++ but you can run VMs which run on node you just need to run "node node vm" and you get a VM and then that will automatically translate whatever you give it into javascript so node can run it. So then you can run C++ as javascript which since its new it will be much faster.
