How fast can you type?

Hi all,

I'm curious. How fast can you type? I learned today that I apparently type a lot faster than other people, and I would attribute this to the years I spent rapidly typing away while merching in W2 Fally back in the days.

My guess is that a lot of you can also type pretty fast thanks to your gaming experience. You can see just how fast at www.typingtest.com.

My first try got me 101 words per minute. What do you get?

 

140 WPM no errors.

 

In a standard environment and from past tests I've done, I get about 80-90 words per minute. I'll give this site a go when I'm on my PC and see how I go!

 

120wpm with like 97% :\ iHQ wins.

 

Average 110 first try, 120 second try.

 

90-100 Wpm

 

You guys should post screenshots instead of just typing "x WPM." It's a little less spam-y and a lot more interesting.

 

Got 79 WPM, woot.

I got 50-60 at my Primary school typing contest so I've improved.

 

Holy crap, i thought i could type much faster but i keep messing up >_< Managed 110 WPM first 2 tries but with 6 errors. Gonna post a pic after my 3rd try lol.

45 WPM. This is quite sad, even though that lands me in the center as "fluent." (Although I dont believe that is the average typing speed as they say) It's sad because I am in Web Development and Programming. I don't type slow because I am slow, it's because I peck.

I took lessons in school, but I was so much faster already than the other kids with my pecking skills that I thought it was stupid to learn with 10 fingers. Big mistake. I'm going to be taking online lessons here soon because I can't stand being this inefficient.

 

I don't have any special way of where I hold my hands haha. I kinda "peck", but my left hand is on WASD and my right hand is just on the right xD.

 

I used to be able to type 140+ WPM but that was when I played WoW like 10 hours a day. I could probably average about 80 WPM these days.

 

Just got to practice using all your fingers. Gonna be tough since you've already become so adjusted to your way of typing.

 

111wpm, 1 error --> 110wpm 1st try. Peaked at like 140 at 20ish seconds but could sustain it lol.

Interesting to see how the average typing speed on Sythe is so much higher than the supposed average that they give of 36wpm - probably due to all the typing practice we get spamming at vwb lol

 

Yeah true that. I tried lessons in the past but got frustrated pretty quick.

 

Avg around 105wpm, can't decide if I want to learn the proper way or continue pecking...

 

I normally use the numpad mainly lol.

I got 90WPM on my first go. Really haven't been typing that much recently compared to previous years. I used to be around 110ish.
