My (old) account has 1m exp but highest level is 10

Hey everyone, another weird thing I've noticed with one of my accounts that was thrown back onto tutorial island. The XP tracker at the top has tracked over a million exp but the only skill with levels is ranged (lvl 10). I know this had a much higher level years back, any ideas?

 

Your account likely was reset for one reason or another (probably botting a few years ago). Have fun playing around with that, it's fun to mess with people's minds when those kinds of things happen haha

 

Weird, I didn't even know RS did resets... would it have an infraction on the account if that was the case? I like how they let me keep 10 levels though lol.

 

Does it say anything in the offense history? I assume if he had been a reset it would be there don't see why it wouldn't. If not I got no idea man.

 

Yeah they used to roll back accounts for botting, not sure if they still do lol. I remember one of my older accounts getting 5 or so skills rolled down to 10 with the rest remaining normal lol I was so confused, but it shouldn't mention in the offense history. Gl!

 

I rememeber maybe 2-3 years ago it was more popular to have rollbacks compared to bans. I haven't seen a rollback in quite a while though, seeing the current system doesn't necessarily involve an instant permanent ban (My current account has a Moderate ban which was for 14 days.)

 

I just checked the offense history and its clean. Still a rollback?

 

Ah well according to the guy a couple posts above apparently it doesn't show up in the offense history anyway, so it still could be a rollback. :L

 

From what I remember most rollbacks didn't leave anything in the offence history.

 

Oh I thought that had to have been a typo. Roll back for an offense & not even a warning on the record - interesting! Thanks all, that settles it.

 

There is a record, just not available to you is all. I remember reading about it on the official RS forums, I'll see if I can find it later on tomorrow.

The third post down provides a little bit more insight on the issue. It was officially a "Second Chance" sort of system that you still got a punishment for. Jagex would be watching your account like a hawk if you botted again.

 

I think rollbacks would be a generous & effective method for people who botted on accounts they cared about but the truth is people make accounts specifically to bot. It took long enough for Jagex to figure that one out.

 

Well, I received a moderate bot busting ban on my current OSRS account, and it got me to stop straight away, and I haven't botted since. Mostly because I enjoy playing the game and don't want my efforts to go to waste. So yeah, the idea was certainly a noble and reasonable one, but obviously, some people just bot to profit and have no attachment to their accounts.

 

My friend had a level 11 with a firecape because of resets.

 

Jagex for ya right here! This is awesome.

 

Correct me if wrong, but wouldn't an account like that be very expensive due to its rarity?
