Rare miniranks to promote thread creation

Fair enough. I just think this is one of the better ideas I've seen in my time here on Sythe and fostering activity in some of the smaller forums that are lacking, so anything to promote growth and conversation is crucial to keep members here long term as opposed to making accounts to make a few trades then drift off, or feel like they have no attachment to the site anymore and just scamquit.

Like Blupig said, I would hate to see this slide under the radar, even though there is so many other things that are going on behind the scenes right now.

Weekly bump, hope something comes of this when the new forum update rolls out. Maybe will have users venture into other parts of this forum that usually don't, and get many users to post outside of the market.

 

I definitely support this, as long as it's a very low % chance of obtaining a mini rank so it's not worth postwhores just slutting it up to try and get a rank. 'nomsayin?

Be a shame for some people to lose literally 100's of $ worth of mini-ranks if they weren't compatible with new forums. Surely they will still exist. . ?

 

I can almost guarantee that they will. It's just the basic structure of the Forums that is meant to be changing, a skin's been made to make sure that it feels exactly like it does now, so I'd assume that includes carrying over existing features.

 

I believe Richard will if not already has integrated things to be as similar to current Sythe as possible. The move is based off being able to further integrate more features and more securities for the users of Sythe as far as I've interpreted anyway.

 

This is so true. As of right now my market activities have basically stopped from when I first joined Sythe. Discussion is really important both in retaining old members and making new members more inclined to stay. Sythe has grown to be a lot more than just a marketplace now.

 

So would the posters get a certain minirank for exactly posting, or just a prizebox that contains ANY random minirank? I'd support both, just unsure as to what miniranks people will be acquiring.

 

I think the suggestion is to create both tradeable and untradeable miniranks that are obtainable through either posting or creating threads.

 

Well I mean participation minis already exist; so creating threads will give you a prizebox that can give you ANY minirank or a random one from a specific set of 10-15?

Exactly. Thread creation is really important and the site is lacking in it.

If we can somehow combine and implement these suggestions, we will encourage users to venture outside of the spam forum, the market, or whichever subsection they normally post in, and venture and discuss new topics in less active forums.

 

Maybe the miniranks could be more focused on the success of the thread itself.

For example, if you create a suggestion thread and the suggestion is implemented, maybe then you'd get a minirank that would be an achievement reward for helping to improve Sythe.

Another example could be if a thread gains a certain amount of postcount within it, you may receive a minirank just to reward you for keeping the forum active.

 

This could be an idea. I mean it'd have to be engineered in a way that it wouldn't become fruitless to start new threads, but it would give the incentive to reduce spam and to create worthwhile threads.

 

Sounds like a cool idea, I'll support this to promote activity.
