IKOV IS CLOSING DOWN IN 1 MONTHS TIME if you guys are not aware check the website and don't get scammed this is really happening!!!!

 

If this is true, thanks for the heads up, Ikov website isn't working for me.

I have some bad news for you all today. Ikov will be closing it's doors.

Ikov started for me a long time ago, I created the game to educate myself in computer programming.
I have always been very interested in computer programming and Ikov provided me with a great opportunity to develop such a skillset.

Now I've come into the next stage of my life where I need to step up and act on my responsibilities, I need to focus on my education, I've been underperforming there as a result of Ikov. And in the end school is more important than a game. The last day of Ikov will be on the 20th of January 2016, until then you can go to /site/

If you bought something from our store in the past two weeks(later than 29 november) you will be refunded within the next 10 business days.

Very interesting to what lead to the owner closing up. Maybe he's being threathened by Jagex. I don't see "having to focus on school" Makes you give up something that you're making a lot of money on.

I didnt know about this but I got lucky and emptied my stock right before lol.

 

Programming-related tasks can take up loads of time, I've spent hundreds of hours since the release of DarkScape programming bots and dealing with bugs, crashes, errors, bans, etc.

 

That's understandable. I just feel as though he could "transfer" the programming resposibility to someone else and still keep the server running. No need for massive new updates, just keep the nasty bugs away.

 

Ikov used to have 2k players. Now it's dropped to 300 average, 50% being bots. No need to keep up the server. He probably doesn't make enough to keep the website, dedicated server, programmers, etc all paid for. On top of the fact that Runescape probably had a contract with them too, since they had one with Soulsplit, and when soulsplit lost all their players, they were forced to shut down.
