How did everyone start off?

Just wanted to know a few methods as to how people here started off?​

 

Pick pocketed men to 20 thieve. Went to ardy via boat off birmhaven. Stole/sold silk and stopped at 40. Then did lost tribe to get cross and boom 70 range lol. Now I'm 80 herb

 

How much profit did you make selling Silk, is that a good method for money?

What do you mean Lost Tribe to get cross, cross where?

 

Stealing silk is probably your best bet for making money early on in the game. What I would do is start in Ardy, thieve men->cake stall->silk stall until you have an amount you're satisfied with (they sell for 60 gp back to the silk merchant, but you need to wait an hour or so), then go to gnome stronghold and train agility to 30. Run back to ardy to sell your silk then make your way to varrock to buy basic range/mage gear.

Also, doing lost tribe allows you to buy bone xbows/bone bolts which are one of the most efficient ways to train range, but you don't need to do the quest to use them. The shop is also in a dangerous area/multi so I wouldn't risk going there anyways, you're much better off buying them from other players.

I've got off to a good start for day one I think, these are my stats and setup as it stands. I've taken no interest in any skills or quests as of yet. My inventory setup including resources consists of about 30k.

Honestly wouldnt suggest getting up all your combat stats at the same time so early, sooner or later you'll die and lose 1/2 xp on most of em. Chaos Druids are great xp, many of the herbs they drop are worth 3-5k.

 

Definitely recommend chaos druids, yeah. They'll help you start earning some money, while getting combat. Anything you can find to train your combat while earning money is your best bet imo.

For me, I just started by training thieve. Got to about 65 - then trained agil up to 50. At this point I realized suiciders target low hp thievers so I got my range and mage up a bit, and HP to about 35-40. Went back to thieve till I got ~70.

At that point I had about 100k, used it on cheap range supplies and I'm currently training range.

Tbh the best way to play this game is train your stats up a hell of a lot, get high agility, and just PK the hell out of everyone.

 

I started off and made a ton of money! You just get 50 Woodcutting and 55 Fletching (which doesn't take very long). And you craft maple longbows and sell them. You can chop in Seers Village near the bank which is a safe zone.

 

Thieving HAM is ok money. Do dorg quest for lower dungeon thieving in the HAM dungeons. You get so much jewelry it's OP at low lvl.



For upper ham thieving, keep all your loot (axes, picaxes, daggers, ect) and sell to general store. I think steel picaxe's go for 400gp each

 

I stupidly went to do hunter/fletching for the Hunter's Crossbow, thinking I was gonig to be able to solo anyone on the first day. I forgot about Bone C'bows. RIP my day 1 lol.

I just made one yesterday and I know your alot further along then me atm, but I started out getting 40 agility. Then I had swapped over 100k to him and bought some range/mage items so I could get my hp up over 50 so hopefully I won't be getting killed by suicides. So according to everyones post on this thread I started out about right .
