I dont really like many of these I legit sat here for 2 mins & thought of a few ideas tbh, brain storming.

 

Sythe Phone Verified or Phone Verified are the only ones I like up there, putting "PayPal" in the name would give the impression that accepting PayPal from that user is safe and that's a whole other can of bullshit that no one wants to deal with

Here's how I thought It could be implemented:


You can keep the svu rank, you can even keep the gfx icons.


If it's possible, you could actually make it where if u click someones SVU rank, perhaps it could open a tab linking to sythe's usercenter displaying what verification they had to/pay for?


That kind of kills 2 birds with one stone, U dont have to change anything but at the same time you take away the issue of that person being a "verified user", and it would allow someone to learn svu doesnt make a user safe to trade with in 1 click.

The re-direct is fine - but I think Sythe Phone Verified is an excellent name - because the truth is all SVU does is associate a phone number with an account - and this way if you get scammed by that user, Matthew can hand over their phone number to the scammed victim

 

I like the Sythe Phone Verified and Extra Information Submitted (EIS). The latter of the two seems to take away the connotation of being scam-proof, and shows the user voluntarily entered some more personal details. The problem would be if someone got a free texting app or a disposable number, as Dunworry mentioned. More work would suck, but I'm pretty sure that phone numbers can be verified to see if the number is actually "real" or if its just a "fake" ie: from an app or if its disposable

 

Well the thing is if someone had a rank named "Extra Information Submitted" it lacks an appeal by name, I don't know many who would have the rank with a name like that.

I guess the appeal of SVU shows some type of verification, even if it's not as strict as the name made it seem. This way, you're not a verified individual, but your phone number is verified in the sense that you have a number associated to yourself.

This is very true, the appeal of Sythe Phone Verified instead of Extra Information Submitted would help to pull in donations. I am thus in support of Sythe Phone Verified.

 

Phone verified is the best one tbh. It should be renamed to phone verified.

Or maybe Identity Verified? Idk just throwing an idea out there.

 

I kinda like the sound of EIS.

 

ID verified would imply a high level of trust/would imply you've submitted you ID to sythe which they dont do.

Would it be possible to change SVU to a minirank as well? In addition, maybe a sticky somewhere clearly explaining what it means, and what it does not mean. Not sure if this is already apart of the newcomer's guide or not.

 

I concur to this. Strip the rank and revamp to a suitable minirank, I wouldn't mind it being similar to the Sythe Yearly Awards Mini.

 

The issue with the minirank is again, the rank loses some of it's value. I think Sythe and Richard will be immediately turned off to the idea of changing anything related to this if it devalues the project overall. I know it's an odd way of looking at things but you have to be realistic, if the only option you have is changing the name (which I firmly believe is really all you guys can do atm) then you have to stick to just that.

It'll simply be a name change for now - at least that's all I think the upper admins will go for at this time

To be honest I personally would prefer it stays svu(As I'm sure my other bigger marketer's would) because it helps our bussiness and we arent buying it & $25 donor to scam quit.


It's kind of annoying that the smaller segment of traders/the market has already convinced everyone to change it but its w/e, wont effect me at all to be honest lol.


If you look through this thread(I went back 2 pages), I've noticed almost everyone commenting against it staying svu is either not active in the markets or isnt active overall.


I dont care personally, keeping it svu or sythe phone verified is fine with me either way.

Is a phone verification really deserving of a rank? If you compare it to 2 factor, I'd say 2 factor is more deserving of a rank than "sythe phone verified". Not to say it should get a rank, I'm just comparing the two in significance. Downplaying the name will give off this effect.

 

Well that's all it really is, phone number verification (which can easily be faked as well, too).

Perhaps it should be downgraded to a minirank just as 2 factor is, as we've already discussed the amount of actual "verification" that it brings to an account is minimal.

 

I'd say a minirank (with a changed image ideally) saying "Confirmed Information". We could call it "CI" for short, which I think sounds nice.

 

I can ask whether or not a change to minirank is desired and let you guys know
