Safest way to accept paypal payment?

I have many steam games for sale and im not sure whats my safest bet to receive payment with paypal or whatever in here? Ty.

 

Being a seller, it should usually be automatic that the buyer goes first.

However, you are new here, so it might be a little difficult until you build up a reputation with vouches. I'd say only go second as a seller if the person is very trusted here on sythe, lots of vouches, etc etc.

ALWAYS take screenshots of the transaction. I'm not sure how steam games are sold, I've never bought/sold them. But if there is ANY possible way to get proof that the person has received the product RECORD THE PROOF!!!

Anyone can open a dispute in paypal and claim they never got the item they paid for. So you need to make sure you have proof so that the transaction is not reversed is proof is possible to obtain. (this is just a precaution, when it's your word against theirs, they'll look at other aspects to decide who is telling the truth unless the other person can somehow prove they did not receive what they paid for)


Just a random brainstorm which may or may not be against the rules of sythe to do as it might consider advertising items from another website - so check into that before even attempting this:

It would be possible with some web design knowledge to set up a website like amazon or the steam website where you can have a button to buy the item and then when the payment is received, automatically start the game's download (unless a code is required, in which case you could set it up to auto-email the person the code) and once an agreement is set, just direct the person to the webpage where they can make their transaction.

 

You can always use a site like Playerauctions where it will go through as PayPal but if you get scammed you'll be refunded your money.

You can always try payment methods like BTC or in-game gold for games like RuneScape can be sold for PayPal cash from reputable sellers here on Sythe.

 

My best advice? Accept it only from an EXTREMELY trusted source, such as Bogla, Divica, etc., or just accept BTC. Reason being is no many how many precautions you take, the other user can ALWAYS chargeback. While those precautions will help you in the event of a chargeback, they are by no means a guarantee you will win the case. BTC cannot be chargedback, but the only downside is that it's value fluctuates a lot (especially atm).

 

Paypal mycash with receipt can be a pretty good option

 

I would say Paypal is pretty safe if you know how to gather evidence when charge back occurs.

I've never tried receiving BTC as payment but I do heard that its one of the safest payment method solely because you cannot charge back.

By the way, selling comes with risk. From my experience, I've lost money at the beginning from scams until I've learnt the hard way. I think everyone goes through it so don't think even if there is the safest way of method, you won't get scammed. Just a heads up if you want to divulge yourself in the black market.

 

Basically don't trust it from anyone besides EXTREMELY trusted sources.

From my experience, DO NOT GO FIRST, unless they are trusted. I've been scammed 160m 07 through going first to supposedly trusted/vouched users, but got them banned in the end; however lost $160 basically..

 

Make sure the buyer has a verified paypal account as well as many vouches on sythe... chances are that they will not charge back if they have many trade vouches via paypal.

 

Use WU or anything that isn't PP.

That's the safest way to make that fat legit slice of wedge, without fear of pikeys.

 

If you truly do want to insist on using PP, make sure it's verified and get a piece of ID from them that matches their PP name. Just know that no matter what precautions you can take, they'll always be able to chargeback. These are just tools to help you in the dispute.

 

Unless the guy is HIGHLY trusted, PayPal usually isn't a safe method of payment

 

whenever I do paypal trades, I get in a skype call with the guy and have them screenshare while they pay that way I can watch what they do. If they actually want the account, they shouldn't mind letting me make sure.

 

I would just avoid paypal as a whole.

 

Something that gold sellers use is letting the buyer send a pic of their government issued id along with the payment as proof that it was actually them that sent the payment.

You could give that a try.

 

Playerauctions or SUPER trusted (general rule of thumb to only accept direct paypal payments equal to half the amount of their donation rank).

Paypal won't rule in your favor for virtual goods, if you're selling tangible items on Sythe, do it through a 3rd party just to save the headache (i.e. list it on eBay, numerous methods to reduce fee's)

Over $30k passed through my paypal when I was active in the market, $0 charged back.

 

Ask for ID upon purchase. Never trade with them if their PayPal isn't verified.

 

1. Verify the I.P of the buyer and ip from the paypal. Make sure they match up
2. Call them and ask simple questions related to the purchased and paypal used
3. Ask for 30-90 days all activity on their paypal. Check for anything sketchy or recently received payments that can be charged back.
4. Photo id! Have then write on a paper stating they are purchasing from you while holding their id.

 

I've always made my buyers type in a note saying "I will not charge back" and have them right there name out or something, usually works for me.
