SVU Requirements

Sythe Official Member doesn't really convey the meaning of what is is very well. Although Verified may not be the right word, I'm sure Official isn't the word either - everyone who's joined is, in a sense an "official" member of Sythe.

PlayerAuctions authentication service is somehow able to distinguish between a prepaid/ free app phone number and a legitimate cellular line. Not sure how but maybe we can implement that here?

This. SVU is misleading and generates a false sense of security especially among new users.

 

Matthew responded to it, along with a few staff members a couple months ago. Hoping they revisit the topic.

 

I must agree with the whole false sense of security thing. However, with phone number and pay pal info being given to anyone scammed by you, I personally see SVU as being a sort of scare tactic to maybe ward off some potential scammers. By just changing the name I feel as though the false sense of security has a chance of remaining, even if the name was changed to something like phone/paypal confirmed or phone/paypal documented.

By completely getting rid of SVU, I think that some incentive for users to donate would go away with it. I mean sure, different rank graphics are neat, but I'm not sure if it's enough.

 

The problem with phone number and/or paypal is that you can just use a random paypal that you just opened, or you can download a free texting app and get a disposable number for free.

And some people only donate 25$ to get the SVU, so I'm sure donations would go down a bit; however, a chunk of them are those who just donate 25-50$ just to scam in a couple weeks to profit. People who want to gain trust are more than welcome to still donate that amount, in order to start building some vouches.

 

Let's hear some staff input, c'mon staff!! This is getting ridiculous!!!

 

Not sure if this has been said yet since I really didn't have time to go thru ten pages at the moment, but an additional requirement or two that could be added to the rank to make it carry a tad more weight would be;

1. Account must be 6 months or older.
2. Must have 100+ vouches (200+ orders if they do graphic design)
3. $50+ donor. ($25 is just too easy, even $50 seems a bit low considering the large trades I've already seen happen since I've been here).

My personal opinion? Remove it completely, too misleading.

 

I think you'll find SVU would more beneficial to users who are more active on the community, e.g having 1K+ posts as well as having $50 donor minium in order to have it. I also do think being a $25 donor is just far too low to be considered a "Sythe Verified" user.

At this point with so much support for just removal altogether, I don't see why it hasn't been done yet.

 

This thread has been literally receiving support for over 4 months, wtf is going on.

 

To keep things realistic, I'm going to say SVU won't be removed, that much I'm nearly certain of.

However, Matthew and Richard might be open to changing the name - as of now please toss up some suggestions to what we could rename the title/program as
