Adjustable price setting on sales forums

Doesn't have to be a requirement. I simply suggested providing the tool.

 

Users should be able to edit their own titles.

And the threads should include the prices in a dynamic image or something, it's 2015. Dynamic images have been popular for at least 4 years now in bots. Creating a simple PHP-generated image is easy.

I assume it has to do with users potentially potentially putting bad things in the title, editing out potential scam evidence, etc. I don't know the exact reason, but it makes sense.

 

Just like on Craigslist you'd just get everyone putting in 0 cents and then listing their price/offering negotiation in the thread.

On VB, if you give one mod ability, you'd have to give them all i.e. locking, deleting etc

 

By default, yes. But thank god we have the PHP source of the outdated VB version we host. So yeah, we can edit that out and it wouldn't take 10 minutes.

I know some suggestion are indeed long to program and script. This one isn't the case.

We can't keep holding ourselves from improving the user experience in Sythe just because we have old VB and/or because there's lack of motivation in the admins to modify some PHP.

Or you could just implement a new set of icons to the currently existing ones, indicating what price range the said thread is within.

For example;

$400-500 SELLING TRIMMED COMPLETIONIST ACCOUNT

 

Again, the problem still exists that everyone would just set the price to $0 to have their ad appear at the top when sorting by price, then stating the actual price in the post itself.

 

Users abusing this would have their threads deleted and be infracted.

Edit: Also - the reason we don't allow users to edit their own titles is for the prevention of scams - I won't go deeply into the specifics but trust me there's a specific reason as to why we don't allow it.
