Will smoking weed once/twice a week increase tolerance?

Hey guys, just a quick little question here.

So previously I only used to smoke about once or twice every 2 weeks, but now I've been smoking up a bit more, around 2 times a week. I was wondering if smoking 2 times a week would increase my tolerance over time? I hear that you need to smoke up daily in order to build a tolerance, but am quite unsure so I need someone with first hand experience. Thanks.

 

Just like any other toxin, when introduced to the body over time, a tolerance will begin to form. This includes nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, drugs, etc.

Just the simple act of smoking the weed, you're building up a tolerance to the THC

 

Depends on how long you do it. Twice a week will definitely take at least a year or so to even build up a slight tolerance. The whole "tolerance" thing is bullshit in my opinion when it comes to alcohol and marijuana use the way it is used in recent times. Everyone seems to be like "Oh I drink once a week and I've built up a huge tolerance". That's not how your smooth endoplasmic reticulum works...

It'll take years for it to build up. I used to be a daily smoker for a few months, and now I smoke at least 3-4 times a week and my tolerance is no different than it was when I first started smoking 2 years ago. Anyone who denies this is just having a psychological effect making them think that they're getting high/drunk easier/harder.

 

It's really subjective on the person too I'd say. The whole thing is really uncertain, best I'd say is wait & see. I smoke perhaps once a fortnight and I'm still a major lightweight.

 

Short answer: Yes

Takes time. You'll notice it after a month or two: you won't be experiencing it the same as you were before. It'll become increasingly average until you feel like you need to do it more often to get the same out of it. Then you'll find yourself doing it everyday. Then it'll give you nothing but a buzz.

 

When i'd smoke like 3-4 times a week my tolerance skyrocketed. Depends on the person tbh.

 

I remember when I first started, had hella giggles and shit, now it's just a relaxed, wavey feeling.

 

What does that even mean... There's no smoker in the world that only gets a buzz from smoking weed. You smoke as much as it takes to get high.

It also depends on what you smoke out of. Bongs rip super clean and get you hella high.

 

I know a handful of people who smoke that shit like cigarettes, only gives a buzz at that point

 

Can confirm. I usually use joints and I feel just a bit out of it. Use a bong and I swear I turn into a potato.

 

You grow tolerance after a repetitive action which in this case is smoking pot. Switch it up with how you get the thc in your body. Examples: joints, bowls, bongs, dabs, edibles, etc.

Anything done regularly over a period of time (including weed) will increase your tolerance to it.

 

They're clearly smoking wrong (yes that's a thing). The thing that makes me angry the most is when I see people smoking joints and what not and taking a puff and blowing out immediately. Some people don't even fucking know what inhaling is (which is how you actually get the effect of high) and it's such a waste of weed. That's just not how the science behind tolerance works.

All the people suggesting vaping are either 15 or absolute morons. It's fun to vape every now and then but no, it's such a bad/weak way to get high. Fuck the media and this whole vaping trend.

Listen to what this guy says. For some reason marijuana (and most other recreational drugs..) take more time to build up tolerance. Smoke as much as you want if that's the reason you're concerned with the whole tolerance thing. It's not really "tolerance" it's more like you yourself getting use to it and learning how to behave normally while on it.

 

There's nothing "unsafe" per se about smoking marijuana in any way other than the usual affects on the lungs. Vaping takes a shit ton more weed to take any effect, the effect barely lasts, and it takes a really long time of smoking for it to work since it's super slow on dragging.

Vaping is much more hyped up than what it's worth. Anyone that says anything about the "convenience" has clearly just never smoked a regular cig or rolled a joint.
