installed r9 380 into my machine and when I turned on it booted into low resolution mode automatically. and when I ran speccy I got this

    anyone know what caused this?

    EDIT:

I already returned the r9 380 a week ago for a refund. Recently I seen the gtx 750 ti on newegg for $110 and was wondering if I bought that gpu if I would still have same issue

    EDIT:

Just bought gtx 750 ti off newegg for $110. hope it works.

Did you buy this from a retailer?

If not it could be counterfeit/defective.

If it's DOA then it won't read on your computer at all, or so that's my knowledge on it.

This is more than likely a driver issue, make sure your computer doesn't have any NVIDIA drivers laying around; as that can interfere with your card. Maybe a reinstall of the AMD Catalyst will have you off to the races.

EDIT: Also I would go ahead and disable any onboard graphics that you maybe have.

It's a driver problem for sure. If it were a total DOA it wouldn't work at all. You may have conflicting drivers, AMD or otherwise, from your previous card(s). Clear that up and do a fresh Catalyst install directly from the AMD support site. Otherwise, try installing it on a fresh OS or a different boot (could be Linux even) to test out the integrity of the card itself. I doubt it's a hardware issue but you never know.

umm.. did you check if it was plugged into your motherboard or your graphics card?? Also the 750ti is considerably worse than the 380.

If it really was DOA why didn't you just rma it lol...
Edit : i saw your post above that they sent back the same unit. Did they tell you anything? Chances are you needed to uninstall all your old drivers and re-install new ones (use ddu next time for this)
