Are you racist?

No, I'm massively against racism and believe anybody that support racism is small-minded and arrogant.

 

I wouldn't say that I'm racism or at least I don't think so BUT on occasions when a black guy rolls up with a gold chain and tattoos all over his body, all obnoxious, and yelling, I do get uneasy. Maybe it's because the media.

Yes. We're all racist in our own way. Now, that doesn't mean being racist is negative, it just have a negative connotation when people bring it up.

We behave accordingly to social constructs and this is composed of how we are brought up and our beliefs. For instance, I interact differently with different kinds of people. If I see someone wearing a turban and religious dresses, I would have a filter and try my best to not juggle the f word in front of them (for a sign of respect because I am assuming they wouldn't like that). But of course, this is flawed because I am behaving with my assumptions that could be utterly wrong. But isn't that how we behave with other people? We assume things about them and we act according to what we think is best socially?

 

Racist? No. Now do I have a preassumed stereotypical notion of how to expect someone to act based on their skin color, clothing, manner of speech, and first impressions? Yes. Are they true? A majority of the time. Sometimes I'm proven wrong, but then again, psychological stereotypes exist for a reason.

 

I don't dislike a person because of just their religion or race or skin color, I dislike most blacks/mexicans because they're loud. It's not racism, it's more of just a stereotypical issue with me.

 

I don't feel the same way in regards to disliking the minority and certain race. But I do agree that we act upon stereotypes and we're bounded by it unconsciously. In addition to that, we also have our own beliefs and preferences, so we tend to "dislike" certain things because of that. Its clearly nothing against all of the kinds of THOSE things but certainly, experience has thought us to unfortunately, generalize them.

 

A lot of my friends are racist. But that's just them joking and all. I never make racist jokes or anything like that. I ain't like that.

 

I don't want to think of myself as racist, but when people are acting 100% like their stereotype it really irks me and gets me thinking...

 

I'm racist to black people that are racist towards white people.

 

I wouldn't judge someone for their skin color, but definitely we are instinctively racist. Notice how people tend to look at african-americans when they're in an asian country, as if they're getting intimated/scared.

 

I feel i'm not racist; however, freely use quite a few racial slurs.

I think that white people are way more good looking than black/asian people. Is this racism? In my opinion it's not.

I thought this was interesting topic because it's the most controversial topic in my opinion.

I personally don't know, would you consider being judgmental racist? If so then everyone is racist I assume this because you can tell everyone judges it's human nature.

I more so judge how people act but i assume everyone judges by looks, race, and class. Even if your not aware, subconsciously your thinking about it.

Don't normally visit this website to much but definitely interesting seeing other peoples opinion's on this topic.

In any case, every single one of us has a slight bit of racism ingrained into their frame of reference. No matter how much you think you don't; you do. It's part of being human.

 

We're all racist in some sort of way, you may not even see it sometimes. Although, some people are more racist than others.

I personally sometimes say things that are racist and I don't realise that I said a racist slur, but others may. I am not a huge racist and don't care what race/culture or religious beliefs you have I accept everyone for who they are (so don't take this in a bad way, sometimes things just slip out of your mouth).

And to be fair it all really depends on what you define as "being a racist" because this day and age putting on an accent (Asian for an example) could be classified as racist, whereas to me I don't mind it.
