Abyssal bludgeon pure?

Could this work?


Requires 70 attack/strength. Has slightly higher strength bonus than the whip and attacks at the same speed. It also trains strength only so the ideal build would be 70/99/1.


Thoughts?

 

It's viable. The spec is really bad for pures though.

 

Isn't it based off low prayer or something?

 

Yeah. 0.3% damage boost for every prayer point missing.

 

Honestly I don't think it would be that viable because the spec is horrible unless you have high prayer, which would cripple your fighting potential from the extra combat levels. You're also only 5 attack levels off an AGS which has much higher KO potential and is a better option IMO... you could do something like bludgeon->AGS but then you would have insane risk or no one would be willing to fight you if you don't skull.

 

Yes it could be good as long as you don't skull, a good combo is bludgeon to g maul.

 

i would just go with the extra 5 lvl's and make AGS pure. your way better off that way tbh

 

It's really lacking that big spec attack but if your good with timing veng could get some nice k0s with it.

I personally hate the fact Jagex added these shitty weapons, it's 2007 scape not eoc v2.

I would try it, and if you don't end up enjoying it.

Just end up getting 75 attack, and you have a beast ags pure.

 

Honestly it sounds very good to me. I'd think it would be top DPS possible for a pure account, considering it's 2h with amazing strength and speed, and the crushing attack style even sounds good against the hordes of armored opponents with torso that you'll be stuck with. Obviously the AGS will reign king of the KO weapons, but comboing with gmaul or a niche spec should hold it's own. An experimental build with high prayer sounds fun too, it looks to have 29.4% damage boost @ 1 prayer (implying you've got 99 prayer) and you can add on your 15% strength prayer with super strength plus essential strength gear should make for some extraordinary hits. And this is all before the potential buff.

 

Not a whole lot of ko potential, it's like trying to get kills with ss.. not the most effective

 

That build (or high prayer on a pure in general) would not work at all when edge pking, it just adds way too many combat levels. Especially considering it's all just to get a maximum 29.4% extra damage spec that won't always line up with KO opportunities (and opens you up to getting smited really easily), combined with the fact that the AGS has a 37.5% extra damage spec with a much better tradeoff (5 attack levels vs 40+ prayer levels). However, I agree that abyssal bludgeon is the best option against zerkers on a 70/75 attack pure, though those kinds of fights are bound to go horribly anyways.

 

Also keep in mind not a lot of people would be willing to get 99 prayer for a pure.

Honestly probably not worth the time considering the special attack will not be very good for you as a pure. However, if you are fine with that then go for it

 

Yeah yeah but my main point lies with the weapon in general. I'm sure it's been established many times how the bludgeon's special attack isn't the best, I was just saying I'd think it'd be fun to mess around with. I understand adding a bunch of combat levels for a special attack won't payoff that well but saying it won't work at all definitely isn't true either. You'd just need a lot of money and time as well as an affinity for prayer. Don't forget about pairing the bludgeon with the maul either, I know that can definitely hold it's own.
