Some kind of changes to the bond holder system

The system as it currently stands:

There currently is no information anywhere on how to become a bond holder on Sythe.org, the basis on how new members are accepted is people individually message Matthew asking to become a bond holder. AFAIK there's no set amount of bond holder we try to have at a certain time, nor is there any set amount of requirments to become a bond holder. Simply put; this method is archaic comparative to how other things on sythe are run.

After bond holders are selected there no communication or information available to us, A new bond holder knows just as much as a normal user about the donating system, SVU ect. There is no method to help you learn other than seeking other bond holders out via skype and spamming them with questions.

Spoiler: How bond holders work

Bond holders should seek to help new users understand the system, than just try to get the fee's from their bond. We specially try to avoid giving new users some information (for security purposes) but there should be information that can be easily accessible from regular users, through bond holders.

Spoiler: Updates to the bond holder system

I'm going to put this out there, Matthew is in charge of the bond holder system, But he is the most inactive Admin on this site.(his last post was more than two months ago) I personally have nothing against Matthew, But in order to have a system run correctly we need to have some sort of system that either helps him out with the updates that we need, or some way of giving the duties to somebody else (without giving them too much access to stuff we shouldn't)

Now I'm looking for input from the community on how we could improve these systems, I also don't know what we could possibly give general administrators access to, without there possibly being a danger to the security of the site. Obviously I am also looking for Richard's or Matthew's input aswell, as they are the only two people that could approve this suggestion.

 

The names of bond holders should also be updated lol.
Wolfrunescape is still listed as a bondholder in several sections even thought he is banned from sythe.

Anywase i agree that this system is archaic and needs to be updated however i am in no position myself to really help create a working new system.

 

I'll support a FAQ list (can be made by an experienced bond holder) about everything related to the job of a bond holder. I think anything else above that is unnecessary. The title isn't comparative to any rank that gives special permissions. The sole job and purpose of a bond holder is to help users donate through various methods. Adding another purpose isn't necessary.

 

Just to confirm, i'n not asking for bond holders to have more purpose overall, im asking for there to be more information openly available to new bond holders. And for something to be done with the way the bond holding system is run, because frankly, the current system is embarrassing.

Yeah. Should someone other than Matthew take over that portion, possibly they or an experienced bondholder can write a guide somewhere for them to access, so that new incoming bondholders can refer to it for information regarding how to do the job. A bit silly if you're tasked to do something without any explanation on how to do it haha.

There's no need for regular users to know how to become a bond holder. Matthew will pick new users to become one whenever he thinks it's necessary

The system is self-explanatory. If you don't understand it then you shouldn't be a bond holder.

Wait. What exactly do you want new users to know about what system. We're talking about the bond management system here right? Users don't need to know anything about it. When you add donation credit to a user account the user gets a pm containing all information the user should know.

The system is fine right now. I don't see any changes necessary.

Well we would need to update the how bond holders work. We do not need help with that portion anymore as bond holders can upload the payments directly themselves.

Also nobody can replace Matthew in head of donationa AFAIK because they can't trust anybody with that amount of back of house information.

I'm just asking for somebody to help Matthew (general admin maybe?) In the process of adding new bond holders, updating the interface ect. Or somebody just to take over those portions

 

sorry if you already mentioned it but it's sort of unclear to me, what do you mean, specifically what updates need to be made, to how bond holders "work"?

 

The system is fine, the only thing that's not fine was the issue with the approval time for UTs and UIs but that's been worked on already. just gonna deny this, the system is fine
