Meh, I stopped after sapphire/ruby and still thought Sceptile sucked. In 1st gen you could start with Squirtle, and then ice beam your rival's Bulbasaur. 2nd gen, same thing. But then again it feels like a waste training anything except a starter, a legendary (not Celebi), or a Dragonite.

I just have a hard time understanding your warning point, and instead of withdrawing or apologizing or admitting you didn't read the thread, you act as if you are right.
