Conciousness, where does it go when we leave our vessel

Do you guys ever ponder the big questions? We know our soul leaves our body, but where does our conciousness go?
I've always thought that our soul gets rebirthed and our conciousness goes to another vessel. Opinions?

I believe your consciousness stays with your soul.
How can your soul travel without being conscious in itself...?

Well..

You'll loose all sensory perception, giving you no indication of time, feeling, sight, hearing.. You'll be at an absolute blank which will instantly, infinitely continue with no perception.

That's my "belief".

There's no proof at all your consciousness continues to exist when we die. Actually evidence points to the opposite - thinking solely about our thoughts which are all in our brain, it gets powered down when we "leave our vessel".

 

What makes you think we have souls?

as for our conciousness once our brain stops working we have no conciousness. So i think its just "nothingness" whatever that means.

So just burry me and plant a mafakin tree over my grave we good to go.

 

When we die that's it. No more thinking no more consciousness no more anything. It sucks to say it but it's what I think is the most likely outcome.

 

As a christian, I believe that conciousness isn't necesserily staying with our soul after we've died, but it's a rough topic to discuss. I think it just disappears.

 

We don't even know what consciousness is let alone where it comes from. Everything about it that we know is pure theory and speculation. On topic, it will go somewhere considering energy cannot be created or destroyed.

We all want to actually know and think what we know is right but in the end all we are doing is speculating another theory that could be possible.
My own opinion is i do beleive we have been put here for a purpose, whatever that purpose may be... Uptopia? I had a funny thought the other day, the fact there are gigatrons of galaxies and that history repeats itself.. would it be crazy to think that maybe what is happening currently on our planet with a robot having a concious brain, could that not of happened billions of years ago in another solar system, to think that there are 11 crystal skulls on this planet.. is that not thought provoking enough for you to question everything? It sure did to me..

 

I figure it's just going to be like falling asleep. We go pretty well unconscious every night, so I don't really see the difference.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed as far as we know, so the energy of your living being is released out into the Earth, or perhaps even the Universe. Consciousness seems to more or less be a result of the neurological and chemical processes of the brain, so regardless of where this energy goes it is likely you won't be able to perceive it any way we currently know.

Nothingness is incomprehensible to self-absorbed people in my opinion. Think about the city of Paris. In every material and effective way you are totally and completely absent from Paris. To Paris, you are nothing, because for all intents and purposes you don't exist. And Paris seems to be getting along fine without you. Think about the entire history of the Earth and Universe before you were born. Everything went about exactly as it should without you existing. Now, try to remember being born or before you were born. It's not like you were aware of just floating in black nothingness, you weren't aware at all. Because you simply weren't. That's what death will most likely be like. There, you've just comprehended nothingness. Wasn't that easy?

 

Not really. You were "nothing" for a very long time before you were alive as well, so it's not really a novel "experience"
