I was buying a $200 amazon gc for 75%. After not being able to find a "agreeable mediator" I went first with $75, after he confirmed the payment ( he requested that it was not a gift so there would be buyer protection ) he logged off. I filed a paypal dispute. here is what he stated

3/27/2013 14:51 PDT - Seller: This was a virtual item, an amazon e-gift i sent him the code through email and he then logged off.He wanted to pay 75$ upfront first and then the remainder which i accepted to do as this sounded reasonable.I sent this virtual item to the buyer and then he stopped responding to me.I have escalated this to a paypal dispute so i can work along side paypal to come to an outcome.

You arent willing to go first so there is no point going any further. The way i accept payments gives the buyer the upmost protection so they can get the money back if its needed.
Id rarther hold onto the code then give it to anyone first.
