Thoughts On The New 4 Skilling Pets Soon To Come?

For those of you who live under a rock, OSRS recently had a poll for "skilling" pets. Pets to be obtained via Skilling. There will be 4 pets.


Woodcutting - Beaver - Can be obtained when chopping any tree.
Mining - Baby rock golem - Can be obtained when mining any rock.
Fishing - Heron - Can be obtained when fishing at any spot.
Hunter - Baby chinchompa - Can be obtained when hunting chinchompas.

Im Personally Going To Go For The Rock Golem.

Seems kinda strange hunter is the only one with a specific activity to obtain

 

I like the idea if they're really rare to get. Like there is a decent chance you won't even get one when you get a 99 in a skill. As long as they don't give any skilling bonus (don't turn into RS3 please) and they're purely cosmetic, I think it'd be something fun to add.

 

If it passes it would be a cool addition, nice to see some skilling pets, just hope they're not gonna be common. Won't personally be going for any, but gl to anyone who goes after them.

I like the idea, this should be a good motivation to get your skills up and have a chance of getting a pet

 

This sounds pretty damn cool. Great motivation for those skills.

 

Would love for this update to pass, these skilling pets will be a great addition to the game, I will be going for the mining one eventually when I go for 90 mining on my main.

 

The Baby Rock Golem and Beaver look interesting

Other than that I don't really care, but I can imagine thousands of bots with these pets.

Hate the idea of a rock golem, love mining.

 

Fantastic idea... Gives another incentive to skill and motivates people to log-in.

i think it's alright. i would like it if they were super rare to get so only there was a limited amount in the game for a while. when pets are all over the place it ruins it for me

 

This is great to see. Jagex is giving extra things to skillers as they do to people who do combat.

 

Gonna have to bash out some skills then!

Drop rate is 1/100,000, so for the hunter pet, mathematically that would be 26.5m xp to get it. Don't think I'm going to do that
