How well did you do in your last job interview?

I have a job interview in a week and just remembering my last one, I failed so bad. I got too nervous and made poor choices. I've trained myself not to fuck up that bad.. So what was your experience like?

How well did you do in your last job interview?

My last interview went terribly and I laugh when I think back of how I replied some questions. I was asked "tell me one time when you went over and beyond your call of duty". My reply was "one time, this customer asked me for a straw (I work at a resto) and I got him a straw and a drink to which he didn't pay for". I laugh because you aren't allowed to do that and it's considered stealing but I didn't know what to say; I just had to come up with something quick. AND I came to my interview late too which is a terrible start. I didn't need that job so I didn't care much.

My last interview went pretty good. I applied at a local market and I was nervous, but thankfully my parents and the owners are in good terms, so that definitely helped.

I've got the job every time I've interviewed, so I guess they went well. But I've only had three so it isn't saying much.

I get really nervous, but I answer everything as it should be, I just get fluttery and the interviewer can tell.

Been long ago, but went well.
Think it's better to say "I don't know" than to quickly think of something (stupid, illegal xD) in my opinion.

    IS THIS EVEN ENGLISH ??

I was asked to explain backwardation vs contango, whether or not I trade futures and how they're applicable in my last interview. I think I did alright, but definitely not amazing. Sometimes it can be hard to articulate these things concisely and quickly

How well did you do in your last job interview?

My last interview was for my job at universal, and it started off shitty. I went in thinking I was just going to get a position somewhere in the parks, attractions or more likely quick service food. I thought I applied to the wizarding world of Harry Potter, but the lady said I applied for Shrek, and that's where they really needed personnel. So I decided a job is a job, and honestly they'll all be just as bad as the other inside the parks. So I interview, talk about my experience, and she stops halfway through and says "you're a little overqualified, and I noticed your experience seems perfect for a position they just opened yesterday out at the airport. I'm going to set you up for a second interview for that with Kristin tomorrow". So great, at least I'm in air conditioning and out of the parks.

I walk in the next day, and I'm doing this interview during a one hour break at my last job (a really shoddy and scammy travel agency), and I end up waiting for 3 hours for the interview to even start. I'm in a t shirt and jeans because I'm coming from my casual dress job, and didn't want to alert them that I'm leaving yet. I finally get called in, and it lady looks me up and down, smiles, and this is the position, do you have any questions?

So I recognize a dismissal when I see one, and I figure I'm not going to get bitched at for taking a long lunch for nothing. I begin by jamming out every detail of the job she's offering, asking questions and relating her answers and the duties she talk about back to my previous experience Nashe gets Ito the conversation, says how it's a brand new ground floor position and I would need absolute flexibility, so I kept relating everything she said to personal/professional stories I experienced. By the end, she offered me a full time position starting the following week.

Three months later I moved up into a trainer manager role because it was a brand new team and they proved the need to aggressively expand, and they needed fully trained people who have already experienced the job first hand to train the new set of employees.

    And here I am

How well did you do in your last job interview?

Last interview I had was for where I'm still working. The interview was very casual (my boss is very relaxed and prefers "team member" rather than "boss"). Outside of the casual nature of the interview, it was just the generic questions, what I am able to do/how I'm able to help with what they do, etc.

But yeah, it went well, he hired me on the spot and asked if I could work the rest of that day.

The key to nailing interviews is to practice a lot and out loud.

I went to a job interview earlier today. I froze up a little on a couple questions, but I'd say it was decent.

The best thing to do after an interview is ask the employer what he did to earn his position. It will make them feel good about themselves, and raise your chances in getting the job. Goodluck !

I've never had job interviews. Always done manual work because I help people, then the word spreads, and people call me. Most recently I'm in pest control, but a contractor called me last week and wants to discuss me working for him after my ankle surgery this Friday

this. especially for phone/skype interviews. there's no reason not to have notes plastered everywhere to guide you. print out a list of 100 common interview questions or ask your career services office at college/university or the like for something similar. write down your answers, practice each a dozen times, once or twice a day for a week prior to interview season. any time you get those questions, you'll essentially have your response memorized, and that'll free you up to actually think about the questions you haven't/couldn't have prepared for

on top of that, memorize your resume, and don't lie on it, especially about technical proficiencies.

in terms of interviews, i'm thankfully a good interviewee. i had something like 16 or 17 interviews last fall and most of them culminated in an offer or me refusing subsequent interviews. practice makes perfect
