New to steam

So apparently I can't send skins / knives and what not to people unless I have a purchase that is at least 30 days old? What is the deal with that?

 

Here are the reasons why trading may be unavailable;

-Your account needs to be protected by Steam Guard for at least 15 days (It's automaticly protected when you create a new one, which means every time you login on a new device you WILL have to confirm it through email, disabling this will disable the ability to make trades through steam.)

-New IP address, need to wait 7 days

Bought an item on the MarketPlace, need to wait 7 days before being able to trade the item.

-Have to wait 30 days after making a purchase on steam (for attleast 5$) before being able to send any items. (Can receive them after 15)

Steam sucks if you want to make a trade when you're new, but attleast they're ensuring your safety .

 

This is new. I just checked my alt account, it doesn't appear to be experiencing the same issue, fortunately.

I thought not having a 30 day old purchase just limits you to a certain things like Community market, sending friend requests and stuff like that.

How old is your account? When did this happen? Have you been able to send stuff before?

 

Account is several months old, got a few games about 2 weeks ago. Tried to sent out a CS:GO skin and it basically said no... :L

 

They have been adding new protection schemes in for the past few months, I think they target newer accounts as they're more vulnerable to scams. At least it's protecting you in the long run.
