Smartphone Tournament Discussion

I wanted to do a series of tournaments around Apps for iPhones/Androids and so need some suggestions. Also if you think this is a crap idea just say so. I think it would be good because even if you're not on your PC, you can accept a game from someone or play during down time. Also if it's a game that works in 'moves' turn about then it can be played throughout a day or something.

- App needs to be available on both Android and iDevices for FREE
- Preferably something that doesn't have a cheating app as well but sometimes this is unavoidable
- Something we can have unique usernames not associated with FB etc for people's security/privacy
- Something simple that can be played with friends without too much prior knowledge or experience

I'm really confused. Are you suggesting like we do a tournament based around an app in the app store / android market? Like words with friends, or something along those lines?

If usernames are not that important, I'd suggest 2048, the highest record wins.

 

Yeah. Games like:

* 2048
* Flappy Bird
* That game where you click on the tiles and they keep advancing in a fast manner (some of you would know the name)

Games like that. Idk though, how would we compare and keep track?

 

That's why usernames and 1v1 style games are better.

True. Never played too many, but it'd be fun to try some I suppose. I think it'd be fun to play like an online shooter that's free, and you can create your own teams. Might be tough getting teams of like 6 sythe members on at the same time, but a thought for maybe something different

But if an tournament was introduced that was based around an app, I'd probably at least give it a shot haha. Going to a baseball game tonight, might check some out later tho

 

maybe we could do something w/ clash of clans.. like two similar sythe clans and have an organized war against eachother.

Cheating is unavoidable with most games unfortunately.

Yup.

 

Oh I thought these would replace some of the PC tournaments. Well that sounds good then, twice the fun.

 

If you really want to, you can use emulators on PC if you don't have a smartphone and download the apps, works just as well as playing it on a smartphone (if not even better )
