    what are some good shoulder workouts

    im looking for advice for some shoulder workouts :)

    what are some good shoulder workouts

    Here is a very basic one I use:

    • 3 sets of 10 reps of dumbbell shoulder press
    • 3 sets of 10 reps of lateral raises alternating with 3 sets of 10 reps of front raises (I use a 45 lb plate, but you can use dumbbells if you please)
    • 3 sets of 10 reps of bent over lateral raises (to target the rear delts)
    • 3 sets of 10 reps of face pulls

    Again, this is a very basic one. My shoulders are head of the rest of my body, so this is more maintenance-based than anything else.

    FYI the bent over lateral raises is called rear delt fly's.

    This is a decent routine. As long as the compound movement of shoulder press is present and something to target your side delts (lateral raises is my favorite) and rear delts (rear delt fly's are one of the only and probably best ways to isolate them) then you're good. You might want to target your front delts slightly but you'll be fine with just 3 movements.

    For mass just do overhead press with heaviest weight possible

    Certainly. It's usually up to the individual lifting. I personally prefer dumbbells, I feel the better range of motion helps more, but some people feel otherwise, and with no concrete proof saying one side or the other, either is perfectly fine.

    Yeah, it's really just a slightly different way to hit your muscle groups. The only potential drawback with barbells is your dominant side can take over slightly and do a bit more of the work (can be greatly reduced/eliminated with strict form).

    what are some good shoulder workouts

    Are you thinking of shoulders as a whole or like Deltoids, Traps, etc? I like to target each head of the deltoid muscles separate from my trap workouts and the like.
