League Betting Worlds

Hi guys, I was thinking of offering a betting market, during worlds. I would offer things such as 'Which team will win', first blood, first dragon, etc, do you think this would be a good idea? Was just wondering if people would be interested vs me doing it and theres not much interest, thanks guys

 

There's already a few large betting sites that bet on League games already, but if you're going to do it specifically for League then it's possible if you can generate enough interest.

 

I was thinking only on sythe, not an external (possibly dodgy) website.

I'm happy to have an OMM hold everything, fees on me, aslong as there is enough interest, I have (basically) an infinite pool of money I can keep investing into it, as I'd assume there wouldn't be bets over the $100+ mark.

 

Can you name a few large betting sites for LoL? I am interested in this.

I don't think it would be that profitable for you tbh, also there are plenty of websites that do that out there already. I don't think this would be a good idea for you as it requires so much organisation.

 

Can you name legit organisations?

 

alphadraft is one of them. vulcun is another one, don't really know much about others but I'm sure there are plenty.

 

It may take some time, but if you gain enough reputation and experience, you may become successful.

 

I might give it a go (more for the fun side), I'd assume the bets would be small, so I'd be doing this more for fun than for money...would be a good way to meet new people, odds would be decent etc.. might start creating this tomorrow

 

What I did with a couple of friends last year was a Worlds playoff pool...for example, predicting the 1st and 2nd place winners of each pool, predicting champs + runner ups, MVP, team with most kills overall, deaths overall, etc.. each category is a certain amount of points depending on difficulty and the one with the most points at the end wins.

Not sure how feasible this is on sythe but we could give it a shot

 

You'd need to code a professional website.
Also other betting sites would crush you.

Not worth it without a very large investment.

 

He's thinking of doing simple, fun, small bets to enjoy Worlds that much more, as well as having a mean of interaction with other Sythe members throughout the games. He isn't trying to compete against Alphadraft/Vulcan..

Either way, I'd be interested in this for fun.

 

Exactly my point, I'm not interested in the money aspect, more for the interaction, the money just comes as a bonus... but I'd probably be losing more than I'm winning

 

There are far too many of these websites out there already, but if it's something you're passionate about pursuing; go for it.

This is meant to be something just for the Sythe community to have a fun time and get engaged in the games

 

Looks like a fun way but like others said you'd need good rep to do this or find someone willing to hold the money betted.
