Thoughts on virtiux omni?

Thought it was rather neat to have the stand to walk on and the gun there are a few vids of it being used on games liek csgo and borderlands.

The downside of what i've seen through videos however are


- Aiming is used with your head via were you look etc and not so much the gun, its more or less just a controller.

- The walking platform looks to be too small and you can see on the videos that he almost steps off of it at times.


- Looks cheap and made from plastic, in the csgo video when he turns around starts to run backwards you can see that the support waistring/Stands almost give out.


Rather neat but i think to truely get the VR vibe from these sort of products it would only work on games that allow free head movement while allowing your gun/crosshair placement to remain the same I.E Arma series etc.

Games like battlefield csgo cod etc wouldn't be as fun as were you look is were you gun shifts aswell. Replacing how you aim with the gun, and using the headset for just looking would make it alot better imho.

Freedom of movement looks restricted. The running pace you go at doesn't sync with the character's running pace. The model is really closed in on you. It reminds me of a baby walker.

 

Looks pretty cool to me. Something you'd see in an arcade.

 

Honestly this makes it look like it would make your gaming experience worse. All the time it took him to aim at the first guy.....

 

This. These elaborate setups can't just be a more difficult control mimicry of real life, it would ruin the immersion.
